🧵 THREAD 2: TILLIS REAL ESTATE DEALINGS

I am not the person to break this story or these details. Rather, I am providing an independent fact-check of the below accusations.

The allegation is that Tillis improperly reported real estate transactions with TRT Holdings LLC, which he initially reported for 2013 as having 50% ownership with a value between 100K and 200K.

The allegations involve two addresses. For the first address, Tillis did make a quitclaim deed in 2008 to his LLC.

The LLC itself did sell the house in 2013 for $55,000. It is not clear if Tillis was required to report transactions for a LLC where he had 50% ownership in.

The second address involves "trailer park, transferred twice (2011 for $250,000, 2016 for $750,000) to Tillis-linked entities without disclosure"

TRT Holdings did transfer a trailer park to Shady Grove Estates, LLC in 2011.

However, there is no mention of Shady Grove Estates, LLC in his report. Most likely, it is a standard real estate transaction which occurred before his candidacy in 2014.

TRT Holdings reports three transactions in the time period that Tillis would be required to report.

We have covered the first one - a sale of a property for $55,000. The other two do not appear to have been mentioned in the original allegations.

The 2014 sales concerns a property for $52,000. Tillis did not report a transaction, but the TRT Holdings LLC was what sold the property, not Tillis himself.

TRT Holdings LLC did have a transaction in Salt Lake City in 2023, but Tillis does not list himself as an owner of TRT Holdings in his 2023 report nor is there any other evidence that he has dealings in Utah. My opinion - it is a different TRT Holdings LLC.

My overall assessment - the allegations hinge on whether transactions under a LLC are required to be reported as individual transactions.

As much as I'd like it to be otherwise - my answer is "no" and my guess is nothing will come out of this.
