The Border Czar just took the fight to CNN.
He laid out exactly what’s coming with ICE’s mass deportation push—and why it’s long overdue.
Then Tapper brought up AOC’s latest threats.
Homan UNLEASHED—and said what CNN viewers were never supposed to hear.
And just like that, the narrative collapsed on live TV.
🧵 THREAD
📌 Before we dive in, bookmark this thread—you’ll want to remember this moment.
Tom Homan just went on CNN and said what no one else will about the future of America’s security.
Tom Homan walked into CNN with a mission—and he wasted no time making it clear.
He started with a bombshell, that served as a clear indication of where the whole operation is going.
The Border Czar revealed that the Trump administration is preparing a federal deportation crackdown unlike anything the country has ever seen.
“We’re going to ramp up the number of teams in the interior of the United States,” he said. “We’re building that team now.”
Homan explained that multiple agencies are already being mobilized.
ICE, which includes over 14,000 officers between ERO and HSI, is preparing to redeploy personnel for interior enforcement. But this isn’t just ICE.
“President Trump has all the government on this,” he said, pointing to coordination with ATF, DEA, the U.S. Marshals, DOJ, and even the State Department.
This isn’t piecemeal. It’s a full-scale federal operation—and it’s just getting started.
The conversation then shifted to repatriation.
CNN’s Jake Tapper pressed Homan about reports that the administration was exploring deportations to Libya.
Homan said he wasn’t aware of any specific Libya plan, but confirmed that negotiations are underway with multiple countries to accept illegal aliens—especially those who pose a public safety or national security threat.
He made it clear that America can no longer house dangerous criminals.
“If their home countries don’t accept them,” he explained, “we’re looking for third safe countries to repatriate them.”
This is huge news.
When asked which nations were part of these discussions, Homan kept the details close to the vest:
“Until we have a signed agreement, I won’t disclose that. I’m not going to give them credit for something they’re not doing yet.”

Now, back to the story you came for.
That’s when Tapper tried to steer things into familiar territory—painting the crackdown as a threat to legal immigrants.
“What do you say to people who say that this immigration crackdown is also creating, in addition to doing what you want it to do, it’s also creating an atmosphere of fear among people who are in the United States legally?”
Homan didn’t bite.
“Well, look, we’re sending a message. It’s not okay to enter this country illegally. It is a crime.”
“It is not okay to be in this country illegally.”
“It is not okay to hire an illegal alien because you’re simply undercutting your competition who hires U.S. citizens.”
He pointed out the obvious: this doesn’t affect legal immigrants who follow the rules.
“We don’t deport U.S. citizens. If you’re a resident alien, you’re here on a green card, you have certain rules when you get the resident alien card, you got to obey those rules.”
Homan then dropped a line that set the record straight once and for all:
“Simply follow the rules, and don’t break the law, and you’ll be just fine.”
Tapper was hoping for outrage.
What he got was a masterclass in common sense.
This was the moment that made Homan's entire appearance.
The interview closed with Tapper bringing up Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who recently posted a video calling Homan out directly.
His response was swift—and cutting.
“First of all, you can’t intimidate me. Come on, give me a break.”
Then came the résumé: five years in Border Patrol before AOC was even born. Over 30 years enforcing immigration law. Service under six presidents. Hundreds of policies reviewed, implemented, and enforced.
“You can’t deny the success of the Trump administration when it comes to border security—again, the most secure border in the history of this nation,” Homan said.
He directly challenged AOC’s support for sanctuary cities and her hostility toward ICE: “Shame on you,” he said. But his most serious warning came at the end.
“You can’t cross the line. You can’t knowingly impede ICE law enforcement officers. That is a felony. You can’t harbor and conceal—knowingly harbor and conceal—illegal aliens from ICE. That is a felony.”
No bluff. No retreat. Just a cold reminder from the Border Czar: the law is back—and this time, it’s coming with backup.
