THREAD: The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force has arrested Peter Stinson, accusing him of threatening to assassinate Trump.

Stinson is a veteran and founder of "May Day on the Mall," which Rep Eric Swalwell spoke to just two days ago.

2) The FBI is clearly well aware of Stinson's leadership role in the Mayday Protest Movement, which they point out in page 4 of their indictment.

The timing, this arrest occurring right after Swalwell addressed the group, is uncanny.

3) The posts Stinson allegedly wrote that the FBI say constituted criminal threats against President Trump go all the way back to 2020, and continue on X (then Twitter) until 2022.

4) The FBI alleges after Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter, Stinson switched to Bluesky, where he continued to make comments that the feds allege constitute threats against President Trump.

He allegedly expressed frustration at the failure of the June 2024 assassination attempt.

5) "On February 1, 2025, in response to another user comment reading: “bluesky is an AMAZING place to announce an intention to do assassinations, keep it up,” STINSON replied: “All in.”"

6) The FBI particularly emphasizes a series of BlueSky writings where Stinton allegedly pontificates about "crowd source a contract hit" and "Can we start a go fund me for a hitman?"

[Editor's note: I'm guessing this would violate GoFundMe's Terms of Service]

7) While many of Stinton's alleged writings are far more vivid, the FBI also emphasizes the use of the term "Luigied" as a verb to mean "assassinate" ad the use of "8647", where the FBI proceeds to invoke the name of their own former director.

8) Apparently after Peter Stinton allegedly posted videos of himself making a speech with the caption "8647," users subsequently tagged Kash Patel and Dan Bongino, which actually made it into the criminal affidavit to have him arrested.

9) After five years of posting what the FBI alleges support charges for threatening the president, the FBI cites one final Bluesky post prior to his arrest: “When he dies, the party is going to be yuge.”

Full affidavit here: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

10) In a BlueSky post from May, Stinson describes "Mayday Movement USA seeks the impeachment and removal of the president of the United States. We're doing it through non-violent means, congressional lobbying, community awareness, knowledge and desire building, and art."

11) In the final Instagram post prior to his arrest, Stinson responds: "To the fascists who are commenting... you're a fascist, I don't give a shit what you say."

"Impeach and remove, it's the only non-violent solution."

12) It appears on closer examination that Peter Stinson was actually present at Representative Eric Swalwell's Saturday speech wearing a "F*** Trump" shirt.

(Beyond the physical similarity, he posted himself wearing apparently the same jewelry and shirt two weeks prior.)

13) Below is my full 4K footage of Eric Swalwell's speech, where he announced support for a third Trump impeachment (available to license).

14) It is notable to me that Stinson allegedly made these comments for five years, and the FBI grabbed him right after Swalwell gave this speech to a movement he founded with him in attendance.

The affidavit does not state when the investigation into Stinson actually began.

15) The Mayday movement has released a statement expressing “dismay and a high degree of suspicion” at the arrest of one of their founders, Peter Stinson.

“We would be surprised if Peter made any comments suggesting he was inclined toward violence.”
