On 3 June, Jolyon Maugham KC and his @GoodLawProject launched a crowdfunder in support of their intervention in the High Court, where the @EHRC's landlord was - later that same day - seeking an injunction against protests outside the EHRC's office by Trans Kids Deserve Better. 🧵
Somewhat unusually, the crowdfunder was launched on @CrowdJustice, rather than on the GLP's own website (as has been the norm for several years now).
And the first donor was 'Jo', as Jolyon Toby Dennis Maugham KC sometimes styles himself. 🤔 2/n
Later that day, with the crowdfunder having reached just £701 from 12 pledges (including a £500 pledge by 'Val'), the GLP announced that the High Court had dismissed the landlord's injunction application.
In actual fact, the GLP's intervention did not influence the judgment. 3/n
The GLP said they would keep the crowdfunder open 'in case there is an appeal [by the landlord]', and by the morning of 5 June it had reached £805 from 17 pledges.
Then, later that day, a single pledge of £14,975 took the crowdfunder past its £15K target, to £15,780. 👀 4/n
Strangely, this £14,975 pledge - made *after* the case had been resolved - did not appear in the list of 'recent contributions' before, with 'Jon' having made the 19th and last pledge (of £50), the GLP closed the crowdfunder on 7 June.
So, *who* donated the £14,975? And why? 5/n
Well, on Friday, the famously photogenic Patsy Stevenson breathlessly announced that, as she hadn't needed to use the £ that "thousands of you contributed" to cover Patsy's potential legal costs in 2021, she had "reallocated the funds" to the GLP's @crowdjustice crowdfunder. 6/n
In fact, back in 2021, only 818 people - not "thousands" - donated to Patsy's @crowdjustice crowdfunder. But the crowdfunder did raise a cool £18,592.
Which is £2,762 more than the grant total of £15,830 received by the GLP crowdfunder, from 19 pledges. 🤔 7/n
Furthermore, £18,592 is £3,617 more than the £14,975 anonymous (and unlisted under 'recent contributions) sum received by the GLP's @crowdjustice crowdfunder on 5 June.
Yesterday, however, Patsy insisted that *all* £18,592 was reallocated from her crowdfunder, to the GLP's. 8/n
So, did @crowdjustice charge a fee for reallocating Patsy's £ to the GLP's crowdfunder?
Or is the £14,975 received by the GLP crowdfunder on 5 June nothing to do with Patsy? In which case the crowdfunder received £15,830 + £18,592 = £34,422
Wanna clarify, @GoodLawProject? 9/9
What about you, @crowdjustice? You reallocated the £ from Patsy Stevenson's 2021 crowdfunder to the GLP's crowdfunder.
When did Ms Stevenson make her reallocation request?
How much did you reallocate to the GLP's crowdfunder?
And on what date was the £ transferred? 10/n
And what about you, @AdamWagner1 & @siva_shanthi @gardencourtlaw - were you aware that your fees for acting for the GLP in court were (part) funded by the £ donated to Patsy Stevenson's crowdfunder in 2021?
And, if you were aware, did you not have any qualms about that? 11/n
Hmm. Patsy has now deleted this post from yesterday, in which she claims that the grand total of £15,830 received by the GLP's @CrowdJustice crowdfunder does *not* include the £ reallocated from her 2021 crowdfunder. Now, why would Patsy do that? 12/n

What about you @ITNSolicitors - were your three solicitors aware that their fees for acting for the GLP in this matter were (part) funded by the £ donated to Patsy Stevenson's crowdfunder in 2021?
And, if they were aware, did they not have any qualms about that? 13/n
Maybe you could throw some light on this matter, @rachelharger @BindmansLLP
You acted for Patsy Stevenson, and Bindmans is named on Patsy's 2021/22 crowdfunder, which raised £18,592.
Did Bindmans retain any of that £18,592? If so, how much did you retain? 14/n
In July 2022, @rachelharger @BindmansLLP, when named on Ms Stevenson's @CrowdJustice crowdfunder, you undertook legal work, including sending a pre-action protocol LBA to the Met.
Did you do that work pro bono, or did you retain some of the £18,592 to pay for that work? 15/n
