I've been studying how Russian, Chinese and Iranian governments buy American land and residential housing for half a decade.

I'm going to break down why the USDA is grossly unprepared for this renewed effort with their announcement today on "National Farm Security Action Plan" and why this won't work.

I'm going to share cases of property next to nuclear research facilities, sophisticated networks and strategies used, and how we can actually address this problem.

Let's begin.

@SecRollins announced today alongside @SecDef, @AGPamBondi and @Sec_Noem a National Farm Security Action Plan

They shared the map at the bottom.

The map at the top is the actual state of affairs.

So why the difference and why are they unprepared for this task?

They even showed it in a video:

The Chinese, Russian and Iranian governments have an advanced network of land and property scouts here in the US that pre-purchase locations ahead of government takeover.

They use the same scouts. These patterns are obvious if you know where to look.

Here is one small network broken out by the trades over several decades.

One result of this network?

Owning property right next to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

What does this laboratory do?

Nuclear Deterrence
Threat Preparedness and Response
Energy Security
Multi-Domain Deterrence

To name a few.

Right next to their Chinese government neighbors.

Here's another network of high ranking Chinese military officers in Seattle

Every single one of these properties are extricably linked with one another.

None of this is farmland.

American, single family homes.

So why is the USDA unprepared?

They are looking at the problem through one lens when this is a multidimensional relationship problem spanning:

US Farmland
US Land
US Residential Homes
US Residential Rentals
And many other housing/land asset classes.

The network shared above? Just one small component of what's here right now

How do we actually address this problem?

We need to stop looking at the problem through one lens. We need to look at it holistically.

@ParclLabs @SecDef Housing needs to be part of this conversation. We need to take a holistic approach to this.
