1) I’m going to catch hell for this. But I don’t give a damn. We can’t just blame Trump for what’s going on. This right here is one of the major reasons he got elected in the first place. Many Americans are stubbornly ignorant. Damn near proud of it. Let’s continue⬇️

2) You can only blame public education for this up to a point. At some point, you have to factor in person responsibility. Now, I know people hate that phrase—personal responsibility—because the GOP has misused it. Basically, we have a nation of perpetual adolescents. And⬇️

3) How do you explain this? There are public libraries. People have scientific information they can look up on their cell phones from accredited sources. But they don’t. Hence, you have RFK Jr as HHS Secretary. You can only blame Trump for that so far. And⬇️

4) Now here comes the bitter medicine: People get the government they deserve. People decided being uneducated was acceptable. Maybe even cool. They devoted themselves more to vacuous, endless entertainment than the direction their country was headed. And⬇️

5) Movies continually depicted it as cool to ignore school, party, and be a teen forever. This is inculcated into the culture (if one can call it that) and so you have this focus on youth and hedonism. Then the young wonder why they don’t have a voice in politics. And⬇️

6) Pay attention to that. Trump was elected by 77 million votes. Harris got about 75 million votes. There’s 340 million people in the US. There’s around 100 million people, give or take, who simply didn’t bother to vote. Just too lazy to get up off their asses and vote. And⬇️

7) People choose to be uneducated in a nation with public education and public libraries. People choose not to vote. People choose to vote for entertainers over people that have actual policies. People choose to treat politics like sports where their team must WIN. And⬇️

8) Ignorance is a choice by many Americans. See that Deliberate rejection of facts? Read that. That’s RFK Jr and all the anti-vaccine imbeciles right there. They CHOOSE to be ignorant. The refusal to engage with education because it doesn’t interest them is systemic. And⬇️

9) You have had for decades kids who think education should entertain them and when they become adults, they figured politics should, too. And so it does, but not in ways they like. You wanted entertainment? Here’s infantry troops in your streets. Happy now? And⬇️

10) The whole GOP and right wing media became one vast echo chamber as the Democrats sat on their asses contemplating how many bipartisan compromises could dance on the head of a pin. The Democrat echo chamber didn’t notice fascism was coming to town until it was too late. And⬇️

11) You can dump all the cash you want into education, but until people are moved to get up off their asses and actually LEARN, it will be useless. We have met the enemy and it is us. An apathetic, selfish nation ruled by greed, vacuous hedonism, and a desire to be kids forever.

12) See this also. This is where we’re at now.
