"In other words, the indictment presents an inaccurate description of the testimony at the heart of this case."
PERSON 1 = Hillary Clinton
PERSON 3 = Daniel Richman
but
PERSON 3 ought to be Andy McCabe!
From Comey's Motion to Dismiss for Vindictive and Selective Prosecution
"Mr. Comey expects to move to dismiss Count One based on a defense of literal truth."
Cruz was asking about McCabe, not Richman.
Comey plainly did not lie to Congress about his interactions with Mr. Richman.
The question from Cruz wasn't about Comey and Richman, it was about Comey and McCabe!
"No reasonable prosecutor would have brought such a deficient case; the only explanation is that the President’s handpicked interim U.S. Attorney did so to carry out the President’s wishes."
McCabe “publicly and repeatedly stated that he leaked information to the Wall Street Journal and that [Mr. Comey was] directly aware of it, and that [Mr. Comey] directly authorized it.”
Comey told the Senators and IG Horowitz he did not authorize McCabe to leak to the media.
In Horowitz's report, he quotes Comey as stating in reference to the leak at issue in the report, in the hearing, and in this case,
“[S]o just to make sure there's no fuzz on it, I did not authorize this. I would not have authorized this. If someone says that I did, then we ought to have another conversation because I, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.”
McCabe lied to Comey, to Congress, and to Horowitz about the leak to the Wall Street Journal in October 2016.
He also interfered in the Clinton investigations.
