🧵1: How many reports of russias war crimes does it take before the world acts?
A new UN report, confirming what Ukrainians have been saying for YEARS:
russia is committing crimes against humanity in Ukraine by systematically murdering, torturing, and deporting civilians!
👇🏼📄
2: The report by the UN Human Rights Council’s Commission of Inquiry highlights especially two categories of war crimes, which it is well documented that russia is committing in Ukraine:
1️⃣Forcible mass deliberations & transfer of population
2️⃣Torture & murder of civilians
3: Investigators describe a coordinated specific campaign of terror stretching over 300km along the Dnipro River; across Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, & Mykolaiv.
Entire regions are being deliberately targeted to break civilian resistance and erase Ukrainian life from occupied land.
4: russia’s forces continue attacks on homes, hospitals, energy infrastructure!
Targeting civilians, first responders, journalists, people who are protected under international law.
Repeatedly striking the same sites, setting them ablaze, to terrorize civilians into submission.
5: “We are hit every day, drones fly at any time; morning, evening, day or night, constantly,” one man told investigators.
This isn’t “just war”; it’s the weaponization of terror itself, aiming to destroy people physically, mentally & emotionally!
6: The report also confirms mass deportations and forced transfers of civilians; some to Ukrainian-controlled areas, others into russia and occupied Georgia.
Most everyone tortured, detained, stripped of their belongings and identity documents.
Erasure of identity!
A genocide!
7: These acts inflict severe mental pain & suffering, which is the definition of inhuman treatment and war crimes.
Evidence collected for the conclusion of the report, includes;
🔺 500+ verified videos
🔺 226 witness testimonies
🔺 247 geolocated crime sites
8: And yet; russia still sits on the UN Security Council.
Still wields veto power.
Still blocks every attempt at justice for the people it’s slaughtering.
How many more “verified reports” does the world need before accountability begins?!
9: Another area pointed out in the report is how russia use “false flag” accusation against Ukraine. Meaning even while russia post footage, showing & bragging about the war crimes they commit, they simultaneously accuse Ukraine for being the ones behind the crimes.
10: Unsurprising, when questioned about their claims, russia simply refuse to answer & deny the Commission access to investigate in the occupied territories.
We know why; russia lies. And the evidence in occupied territories will only provide more proof of russias war crimes.
11: Ukrainians have been telling us, showing us, screaming for the world to realize the reality of russian war crimes long before 2022.
These crimes have been documented, filmed, proven, and buried under statements of “concern.”
12: It took nearly 4 years for this official report labeling them what they are; crimes against humanity.
4 years, thousands of people gone forever, millions of lives uprooted.
The world have seen what russia is doing, still we wait for action towards justice & punishment!
13: How many reports does it take before “Never Again” actually means never again?
How long until the perpetrators face proper punishment?
How long until international law means something?
When such terror goes unpunished, we invite it to grow!
And that’s not a world we want!
