Well folks, look like mockery worked.

2 days later the Liberals are backing away from this ill planned & poorly designed scheme. 🧵

Currently 4,384 ppl in Supp. Reserve.

Govt would increase to 300,000 w/ no plan. 😂

Next year I guess we should be honouring bureaucrats on Remembrance Day?

Chief of Defence Staff:

our plan didn't prioritize civil servants.

🤦‍♀️

The actual reserves was to jump from 23, 561 to 100,000 under the plan.

And by plan I mean pixies and fairy dust.

Here's the plan:

400,000 total Canadians in Reserves & Supplementary Reserves.

Ok. How do you get that number? How much will this cost? How long will it take?

Oh, & we'll consult with Finland.

Finland? The country with mandatory male conscription?

Oh! And last but not least, planning began in June on this near-boondoggle bureaucrat army recruitment scheme.

No announcement. No mention in the campaign. No budget.

This was so poorly planned & delivered you'd think it was still Trudeau in charge.

I can't remember the last time a half baked govt idea was backtracked so quickly.

But I guess a combo of total public mockery combined with probably tons of bureaucrats in the defence minister's riding complaining about it led to a phone call from the min's office to DND telling the CDS to wear this.
