EXCLUSIVE: 1/ Epstein didn’t just prey on children. He helped bankroll and embed a worldview of race science, climate “culling” and eugenics inside Silicon Valley’s elite AI networks. Tonight we publish the final part of my @BylineTimes investigation🧵bylinetimes.com/2025/12/05/how…
/ What emerges from this story is that Epstein helped shape a shared techno-fascist ideology which has touched the most powerful men in the world, currently revolving around Trump 2.0. This ideology justifies mass deaths of inferior people blocking our transhumanist evolution
/ Part 1 showed how Epstein stayed inside a confidential Silicon Valley brains trust – via the Edge Foundation – alongside Musk, Bezos, Brin, Page, Gates, Zuckerberg and others, even after his sex-offending conviction
/ Part 2 revealed how Epstein's money helped rescue Bitcoin at a moment of crisis, opening a route into Trump’s new tech inner circle as MAGA-aligned tech billionaires moved to weaponise crypto.
/ Here's part 3: House Oversight emails and public record filings reveal an apocalyptic ideology – racial hierarchy, genetic “optimisation” and climate-driven population thinning – circulating through Epstein-funded AI circles at the very top of Big Tech bylinetimes.com/2025/12/05/how…
/ One key figure is world leading AI theorist Joscha Bach – a heavyweight in advanced AI who has worked with the AI Foundation, MIT spinoff Liquid AI and Intel Labs. Elon Musk has amplified his work on X and engaged with him publicly.
/ In July 2016, as Trump clinched the Republican nomination, Bach was an integral member of the Edge Foundation, simultaneously working across Harvard’s Programme for Evolutionary Dynamics and the MIT Media Lab – both recipients of Epstein’s post-conviction donations
/ That month, Bach and Epstein exchanged emails descending into some the starkest defences of race hierarchy, gender essentialism and fascist rule I've ever seen. Bits were reported elsewhere. But they missed off a lot - and the network context bostonglobe.com/2025/11/21/met…
/ Bach claims “black kids have slower cognitive development (and never catch up)” while outperforming white children in motor skills, dismissing environment and pushing an evolutionary story that puts Africans and Europeans on different tracks
/ Bach then turns to gender, arguing that women “find abstract systems… boring” and that there are “almost no women in math” because it “does not yield social attention”, while men supposedly find “elaborate social relations” boring.
/ Next he stereotypes whole populations – Chinese people as obsessively deferential to authority, Jews as uniquely intellectually independent – then speculates about “genetic switches” that could “make blacks smarter” by altering brain development.
/ From there the emails move into open fantasising about mass death. Bach floats the idea that climate change could be “a good way of dealing with overpopulation… the earth’s forest fire… a good thing for the species”.
/ He goes on to say “mass executions of the elderly and infirm make sense”, comparing people to unused neurons the brain can discard – explicitly tying climate crisis to a case for culling “unproductive” human beings.
/ Bach calls fascism “probably the most efficient and rationally stringent way of governance” if someone could “pull it off”, praising The Man in the High Castle’s vision (where Nazis won the war) of a brutal society that eliminates all “evolutionary slack”.
/ Epstein never challenges any of this. Bach praises him for being “entirely unconstrained” in his thinking. They go on to discuss where races and genders sit on “the Bell Curve”, the race-IQ bestseller that scientists have overwhelmingly refuted.
/ Bach's and Epstein's views overlap with the influence of Nick Bostrom – longtermist philosopher, founder of Oxford’s Future of Humanity Institute and Edge regular whose work helped shape Silicon Valley’s early thinking on existential AI risk
/ In 1996, Bostrom used the N-word on a private listserv and argued white people are genetically more intelligent than black people. He later apologised but didn't disavow his core contention on race and intelligence, nor his support for eugenics bylinesupplement.com/p/the-far-righ…
/ In 2011, Epstein donated about $120,000 to Bostrom’s World Transhumanist Association (now Humanity+), including paying the salary of its vice-chair, Ben Goertzel – the top AI researcher who popularised the term "AGI" digitalspy.com/tv/ustv/a32708…
/ Archived material shows Epstein had been funding Goertzel’s AGI work for years and was thanked in a 2014 AGI textbook for “visionary funding” that kept the project going through “tight spots”. businessinsider.com/jeffrey-epstei…
/ These ideas sit in a wider Singularity movement. Ray Kurzweil – now a senior Google engineer – attended Edge billionaire dinners in 2001 and 2005 alongside Epstein’s Silicon Valley contacts such as Bezos, Brin, Page, Vinod Khosla and Dean Kamen.
/ And here is Nick Bostrom (Bach's one-time boss and fellow Edge member) sitting alongside senior Google executive (founder of YouTube) Salar Kamangar at the 2015 Billionaire's Dinner (reminder that Kamangar was on the 2011 Edge email list with Epstein)
/ Now, Bach heads the California Institute for Machine Consciousness, advised by Karl Friston – world’s most cited neuroscientists – and Stephen Wolfram, whose software underpins Siri and Alexa. The institute’s funders are undisclosed. Wolfram was also an Edge member
/ Meanwhile Epstein received an early draft of a 2019 Edge anthology on AI, collecting essays from many of the same thinkers in his network, including Bach's advisor Wolfram
END/ Epstein’s exchanges with thinkers like Bach were not aberrations. They came from a shared elite environment where extreme ideas about hierarchy, optimisation and human worth were debated casually by people designing the digital age. The same people steering AI labs, crypto networks and platforms at the heart of Trump’s second term – wiring into code ideas about who is worthy of power, who can be engineered and who can be written off.
