/1🚨BREAKING — AFL just sued HHS, CMS, and HRSA to expose a Biden-era DEI program that injects RACE into life-and-death organ transplants.

Race has no place in deciding who lives and who dies.

/2 Before leaving office, the Biden Administration overhauled the organ transplant system to advance its “racial equity” agenda, justified as a response to the “unbearable human costs of systemic racism.”

/3 Then-HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said the system was “not immune to racial inequities” and pledged to reshape transplant policy around race.

/4 President Trump ordered the federal government to terminate all discriminatory diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

The IOTA Model is a Biden-era DEI remnant that has not yet been dismantled.

/5 The IOTA Model is a six-year federal mandate that took effect July 1, 2025, and applies to 103 transplant hospitals nationwide.

It pressures hospitals to consider race when deciding who gets evaluated, referred, and placed on kidney transplant waitlists.

/6 The rule urges hospitals to create “health equity plans” that sort patients by race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.

It also ties federal funds to transplant volume, pressuring organ procurement organizations and hospitals to procure more organs to hit “equity” targets.

/7 Under the IOTA Model, the consequences are real.

A kidney could go to someone with a less urgent medical need simply because they check the “right” racial box.

This is discrimination.

/8 Around 90,000 people are on the waitlist for a kidney.

More than 5,000 Americans die each year waiting.

In a system this scarce, injecting race isn’t compassion.

It’s reckless.

/9 In August 2025, AFL filed FOIA requests to expose how this program was designed, approved, and imposed.

Every agency acknowledged the requests.

None produced records.

/10 The American people deserve the truth.

AFL is fighting to restore merit-based medicine, so life-saving care is governed by medical need — not discrimination.
