What you are seeing below is Aihole inscription with a key line highlighted. I had promised earlier that I will read the original inscription for date of Kali Yuga.
The script is in Chalukya script of Kannada/Telugu and language is Sanskrit. This inscription is like Rosetta stone for calendars of India.(Because it has both Kali and Saka!)
Epigraphica Indica Vol 6 has this script described in 1900 by Prof Kielhorn. Here is the same line described by him. Highlighting to show the timelines being discussed.
Sanskrit texts do not use decimal system instead the years are typically explained like a puzzle. Here Triṁśatsu tri-sahasreṣu (30 and 3000), then Bhāratād ahavāt itaḥ (“since the Bhārata battle”), then saptābhiśata-yukteṣu (plus 700), then … abdeṣu pañcasu (and 5 years). So it says this inscription/prashasti was done 3735 years after Mahabharata war.
The next line says 556 years of the Śaka era had elapsed! So we can do the math. My paper in progress has this math.
So now I am clear that every inscription, Math text books by Guru Bhaskara II all refer to Kali Yuga starting 3735+2026-634 = 5127 years before present. There are 1300 inscriptions where this date is in stone.
Math is precise. I trust the Math!
Good night.
