🧵 THREAD: Reid Hoffman: the quintessential "Defender of Democracy"

LinkedIn founder and tech mogul Reid Hoffman has spent endless millions making himself indispensable to the democracy ecosystem. Here's just a sampling :

🔹 Created fake "Russian bot accounts" to create allegations of Russia helping a 2017 Senate election
🔹 Mis-stated the extent of his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and how long he continued to meet with Epstein
🔹 Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute, the mysterious foreign-policy thinktank which receives money from both US and foreign governments
🔹 Highly influential in foreign policy circles: Bilderberg Group, Council on Foreign Relations, and more
🔹Along with George Soros, one of the biggest donors to American Bridge 21st Century, a Brock-ran PAC designed to trash Republican candidates

You'd think that @RadioFreeTom , if he were so worried about lack of expertise, he would be calling out those people who spend enormous amounts of money interfering and shaping US elections. But, instead, nah, it's the West Virginia blue collar guy who's ruining America.... not the fact that people like Reid Hoffman and Jeffrey Epstein can buy their way into the highest levels of global influence.

Here's the highlights of Reid Hoffman.

As always, patience as I pull together the thread👇

In 2017, with Roy Moore vs. Doug Jones in Alabama, Hoffman quietly invested $750,000 in a group called American Engagement Technologies.

What that money bought is one of the most shocking stories in recent political history you've never heard of.

AET funded New Knowledge, which created fake "Russian bot" accounts, deliberately designed to LOOK Russian, and pointed them at Roy Moore.

The goal: make Moore appear to be Russia's preferred candidate.

That's not all. One of the masterminds of the fake Russian Bot scheme was the chief executive of New Knowledge, the same firm which wrote the Senate Intelligence Committee's authoritative report on Russian interference.

So New Knowledge was simultaneously:

1. Manufacturing fake Russian interference in an active Senate race
2. Writing the official government report defining what Russian interference looks like

Despite being the primary backer of this project, Hoffman denied all knowledge of knowing what the project he invested almost a million dollars into was doing.

These denials are part of a recurring pattern, as we will see.

The fake Russian bot ops didn't lose him credibility. His influence over the Democratic party only exploded from there.

Hoffman co-founded "Investing in US," a fund that by 2019 was backing hundreds of Democratic activist orgs with the goal to massively bolster trurnout.

Investing in US does not publicize its portfolio - but we know one of the most recent groups they've backed has been Indivisible, the mega-NGO dedicated to running protests all over the country.

Through his c4 entity (Apercen Partners), Hoffman gave $200K to Catalist, the Democratic Party's central voter file and data analytics firm used by every major Democratic campaign.

That's his day job -- improving the Democratic Party tech infrastructure.

Hoffman funds the New America Foundation ($4.2M) and has sat on its board.

One Common Purpose Commission co-chair Danielle Allen ALSO sits on New America's board.

Why is that relevant?

Our Common Purpose was commissioned within the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of our oldest learning institutions founded 1780.

It is the document around which all US democracy NGOs ultimately align around: a fundamental transformation of our Constitution and our country, while we aren't paying attention. All those ranked-choice voting initiatives you see everywhere come from it.

I've written on it several times.

Along with Michael Bloomberg (who deserves a thread of his own), Hoffman was one of the two largest Kamala Harris donors at 20MM+ each.

In November 2014, six years after Epstein's sex offender conviction, Hoffman flew to Epstein's private island, with MIT Media Lab director Joi Ito.

His explanation: "Note to self: Google before going."

In a 2019 Axios interview, Hoffman said his last contact with Epstein was 2015.

He repeated this for years.

It wasn't true.

The Washington Free Beacon published specific calendar entries showing the 2016 contacts (Palo Alto sushi dinner, MIT meeting, Skype call, Bedford NY meeting) and a 2018 Skype call, all years after Hoffman claimed the relationship ended.

Hoffman's Aphorism Foundation has $1 billion+ in assets and no website.

2022-23 grants ($68M total): $10M Stanford, $4.2M New America, $4M CZI Biohub, $1.8M MIT, $1.5M Harvard.

Deliberately opaque. By design.

Hoffman is deeply entrenched in the technocratic globalist governance network which Professor Nichols so loves to defend:

🔹 Bilderberg participant (since 2011), the "more exclusive" version of WEF
🔹 CFR member (since 2015)
🔹 Berggruen Institute board
🔹 Aspen Institute Crown Fellow

In the 2020 cycle, Hoffman gave $1.5M to American Bridge 21st Century... David Brock's opposition research PAC, listed as one of its largest donors.

American Bridge surveils Republican candidates and runs rapid-response media ops against them.

Speaking of fake news and disinformation....

Hoffman and Brock (and Soros) jointly funded The Independent, a Washington D.C.-based media operation that disguised itself as a network of local news outlets. It produced political content targeting voters in five battleground states... Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin... ahead of the 2022 midterms.

Reid Hoffman is a gem: funded fake Russian bots in Alabama, bankrolled Brock's opposition machine, co-ran fake local news with Soros, maintained a secret Epstein relationship longer than he admitted, and runs dark money through multiple opaque vehicles.

No wonder @elonmusk calls him "guilty of dark deeds." That's just what I could find in the public. What else is he up to that isn't public?
