No, the Europeans did not agree to help the USA in advance, though they have been informed regularly for months about all negotiations and plans.
If that means they had no obligation to help the USA, fine. That may be true.
2)
But the US has not asked any European nation for help. It only expected the ability to use US bases and US-owned facilities in Europe, facilities for which it pays $250 billion annually to rent space (with most of the cost going to Germany, Spain, Italy, and

the UK). What Spain has done is say the USA cannot use facilities for which the US has paid.
What if the USA had said to Europe that what is happening in Ukraine was the result of Europe's activity vis-à-vis Russia,

so the USA will not get involved in anything having to do with Europe's efforts in Ukraine? Not the same thing, but the same principle.
One more point: Iran already has missiles that can reach half of Europe.
5)
Imagine if Iran is allowed to continue manufacturing and improving missiles that can cover all of Europe, and maybe with nuclear warheads. Enough to blackmail Europe? Because that is where it was going.
6)
Remember, the USA is much further away and has better defenses, so Europe, including Spain, benefits from this war."
