How do people in different groups differ in their self-reported levels of horniness?🧵
Here's how that varies by sex and occupation.
The least horny group was female machine drivers. The most was male sales associates.
What about by people's number of kids?
Men who have more children report having more sexual desire. Which makes sense, because more sex leads to having more children.
But women who had more kids reported *lower* sexual desire. That's odd!
While we're talking about relationships, what about comparing singles and married people?
Single women are hornier and partnered men are hornier. Need I say more?
What about validating this scale? We can get some validation by looking at differences by sexual orientation.
We expect bisexuals to be hornier based on prior research, and based on common sense, we expect asexuals to be... asexual.
And we see that!
Now, here's where the reports get unlikely.
There's a constant gap between men and women, as we expect, but self-reported horniness rises for men to about age 40, then falls thereafter.
It should fall into older age, but the idea of it rising into middle age? Seems far-fetched!
But, that is how the data breaks down.
