I recently bought this lot of drives from eBay for $15, namely because I thought the Zip drive was cool ๐Ÿ˜‚. Let's test time out, and talk about one serious testing blunder I made, in a ๐Ÿงต here!

The first drive: NEC CD-3200A, a 52X drive, but without the typical goofy branding on the front. This drive was not closing right, so I opened it up and cleaned it out, and then tested it. Well, I should have put it back in its casing before testing. 12V to ground killed it.

Next, we have this Samsung CDRW SW-252. It's also a 52X drive. It checks out! And after it did, I gave it a proper cleaning!

Next we have this Asus DRW-0402P/D. It's actually a DVD drive, and a writer too! This will be good to have handy. Anyway, it checks out!

Ok, now for the fun drive, the Iomega Zip100IDE. I loaded up Iomega Guest in DOS, and took this for a spin! The drive looks a little rough, but it works great! No click of death in sight.

Oh! Check out this cool little feature. I wondered what the little metal bar was for on this drive, it's for manual disk eject! I think later models put an eject hole in the back, but this is an internal drive, soo.. ๐Ÿคฃ

Alright, well that was fun, minus the stupid casualty. But here we landed, and I'll take it. Thanks for following along!
