A Note from My Heart 🧵

My heart is so heavy, and I want to honestly try to explain why.

I love our country and so desire to see God’s mercy and blessing upon it. However, I am deeply grieved by what I see happening among many Christians today.

While celebrating certain of President Trump’s policies and “good works,” like his support for Israel, we are increasingly turning a blind eye to clear Biblical issues — especially the sanctity of life and God’s design for marriage and family.

The strong push for universal access to IVF (including for same-sex couples) under his administration and the softening of the Republican platform on abortion trouble me greatly.

The results of this softening are manifesting in real life. Abortions are up, largely because this administration has not banned the abortion drug, mifepristone. This drug’s use accounts for at least 63% of annual abortions.

This administration also only opposes late-term abortion now, and those amount to around 1% of annual abortions.

Giving access to IVF for same-sex couples allows more children to be brought into these ungodly and unbiblical unions. Again, the Word of God is clear — these unions are an abomination to God.

There are also serious ethical issues about what happens to the “unused” babies — frozen in time or destroyed.

These are not small or gray areas in Scripture. They are not “spots on the wall in the basement,” as Eric Trump described them.

God’s Word is very clear on the value of life from conception and that marriage is between one man and one woman. Homosexuality is not a joking matter, yet President Trump jokes about the “gay national anthem” he often dances to.

What grieves me most is not politics itself, but that so many believers seem willing to set aside or minimize God’s clear commands for the sake of political loyalty or “greater good” outcomes. They refuse to speak out about these weighty matters for fear of seeming disloyal.

I am especially burdened that many have placed their hope and trust in a man — President Trump — rather than keeping their eyes fixed firmly on the LORD Jesus Christ as our true King and Savior, and giving Him their loyalty. (2 Chronicles 16:9)

While God can sovereignly use anyone for His purposes, He does not condone His people setting aside His Word in order to achieve a desired end—especially for those who say they are Christians and love God and His Word. Not even political leaders. We see this clearly in His Word.

Good works and good policies can never replace genuine repentance and wholehearted obedience to the LORD. (See: 2 Chronicles 7:14)

The Words of Jesus ring in my heart: “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).

I am not writing this in anger or self-righteousness, but with so many tears. I care deeply about the Church and about staying faithful to God’s truth in these last days. (Matthew 25:21)

I believe we are being conditioned toward moral ambiguity and compromise, becoming “hearers only” instead of doers of the Word, or giving the LORD only lip service. (Romans 2:13; Mark 7:6-7)

If my stand seems strong, it is only because the eternal consequences are so serious. I love others enough to speak honestly about what burdens my heart, and I believe burdens His as well. We are commanded to warn. (Ezekiel 3:17-21)

Will you join me in praying that the Church would awaken, repent, turn our eyes fully back to the LORD, and stand uncompromisingly on His Word?

If this administration were to fix everything in the country, and even help other countries, but turn from the most important things for us as Christians, what will it profit us? (Matthew 16:26)

If the foundation of our society — the family and Godly values — is destroyed, the Country will soon follow. (Psalm 11:3)

With love and a heavy heart,

Father,
We confess that we, Your people, have too often compromised Your clear commands for political convenience or earthly hopes. Forgive us. Turn our hearts back to You. Give us courage to stand on Your Word regarding life, marriage, and holiness, even when it costs us.

Remove the blindness of moral ambiguity and help us become true doers of Your Word, not hearers only. Awaken Your Church in this hour. Raise up voices of truth and repentance. Help us fix our eyes on Jesus and trust You completely as our King. In the mighty Name of Jesus,
Amen.
