/ The notorious Russian colonel Igor 'Evil' Puzik is once again making news for the wrong reasons. His regiment's political officer is reported to have confessed to the FSB that he and the colonel were imprisoning and torturing their own men to extract money from them. ⬇️
/ Colonel Puzik, the commander of the 87th Motorised Rifle Regiment, is widely detested by Russian warbloggers, his own men, and their relatives, for his alleged corruption, brutality, and willingness to send men to their deaths or shoot them himself to shut them up.
/ He became notorious over his alleged involvement in drug dealing which prompted him to send two UAV operators, who had spoken out about it, to die in an assault. No action was taken against him despite an outcry. However, it seems he may now be the target of an investigation.
/ 'When the cannons started singing' passes on news from a source in the regiment:
"We had a bit of a mess in the 87th Regiment, commanded by Puzik. [Callsign] 'Schmidt' is the commander of the 1st Battalion."
/ "The unit is made up of both contract soldiers and renegades/deserters who'd screwed up somewhere. Some particularly perverse individuals in command positions would lock the errant ones in cages, attach weights and handcuffs to them, beat them up, and extort money.
/ "Some officer was transferred to them, but he soon ran off AWOL. They caught him, brought him back, and put him in a cage. Then they demanded a million rubles from him to keep him from being wiped out on the spot. He started making moves and recruited the right people.
/ "The officer's wife brought this marked money to the battalion; it all went through the battalion's political officer, "Kot." He was the senior officer at the base.
/ "So, the money was transferred to the base, and after a while, minibuses and jeeps with special forces arrived, knocked down the gates, FSB and Investigative Committee agents rushed in, and rounded up everyone.
/ They beat "Kot" up all day, electrocuted him. He even pissed himself there. They started searching the premises and found three guys in the cells; they were released.
/ "Kot" was locked up in a detention centre. As it turned out, all the money went to "Schmidt." They’ve got a whole scheme set up there. Right now, "Kot" is ratting on everyone; he’s turned everyone in.
/ "He said the money was received on "Schmidt’s" orders, and that he, in turn, passed it on to Puzik. Neither of the latter two has been arrested yet; they’re in the combat zone, and an investigation is currently underway."
