1/20 It is a SAD fact of life, and Donald Trump took this to a WHOLE new dimensional level. The Republicans RARELY have ANYTHING mesmerizing that catches the attention of our nations voters, NOR do they come up with or possess ANY policies that would directly affect the lives of

2/20 their constituents in a positive way. I was a Republican for FORTY years, and it was ONLY due to my father was a Republican. I fail to have an explanation of WHY I didn't look at the Democratic party and what they were all about that ENTIRE time. I was ILL-INFORMED...BIG

3/20 TIME!! Because I now know Democrats try and build programs or have policies to help the people; to try and make their lives BETTER. The Republicans are for the elitists and the super rich; they try and make THEIR lives better, almost ALWAYS at the expense of the American

4/20 taxpayer, who foot the bill for the DEEP tax cuts Republican politicians present to them as a gift...especially those who contribute to their campaigns. Think I am wrong? Take for instance the statistics of both Red and Blue states:
1. The richest states in America nearly

5/20 ALL vote Democrat.
2. The poorest ones, with RARE exception, consistently vote Republican.
3. A huge number of red states rank near the BOTTOM in:
a. Public education funding.
b. Healthcare access.
c. Labor protections.
d. Social Services.
e. Infrastructure investment.

6/20 This transfer of wealth is often derided by conservative politicians as “welfare,” even though their states are among the LARGEST RECIPIENTS of it. So the next time your conservative buddy decries blue states and their "welfare" handouts, REMIND them that THEY use more of it

7/20 than YOU do...Interestingly enough, they are also disproportionately dependent on federal subsidies to maintain basic services than those in Blue States. States like Mississippi, Alabama, and West Virginia receive FAR MORE from the federal government than they contribute in

8/20 taxes, basically because states like California and New York pay them FOR them!. Wealthier “blue states” like California, New York, and Massachusetts give the government BILLIONS more in federal taxes than they get back, which are used to prop up RED states.

9/20 This is the slow-burning outcome of over a century of historical injustice, economic neglect
and wealth distribution in the south. After the Civil War, there was the reconstruction era that followed that was a time of bold federal intervention and the promise of racial

10/20 equality. That promise was met with violent resistance by the conservatives largely in control of state Houses in the South. Segregationist policies, underinvestment in education, and systemic racism soon replaced reconstruction in the south. These states were left isolated

11/20 from the rapid industrial growth taking place in the North and West. Infrastructure lagged, and public education systems were chronically underfunded. Wealth remained concentrated in the hands of a few, and entire generations of Americans were denied the opportunity to

12/20 thrive due to conservative policies meant to benefit the wealthy while abandoning the needs of the lower classes...SOUND FAMILIAR?? It is what Republican policies are doing to THEIR lower classes, and Trump and his party make that CLEARLY evident. In stark contrast, states

13/20 in the North and along the West Coast began industrializing early. They welcomed waves of immigrants who helped fuel innovation and expansion, something states in the South were unwilling to do and did not take advantage of. Public infrastructure projects, from roads to

14/20 schools to sanitation, laid the foundation for long-term economic growth. Cities like New York, Boston, and San Francisco became magnets for capital and talent. Public education became a ladder to the middle class, and civic institutions flourished. These Northern states

15/20 began to understand something fundamental, something the SAME party still recognizes today; investment in their PEOPLE leads to prosperity. Governments in these regions increasingly embraced social programs, labor protections, and public health initiatives. These policies

16/20 were not only morally sound, but they also made economic sense. A healthy, educated and supported workforce was far more productive. Republican dominated states, on the other hand, often prioritize policies that reflect a deep distrust of government. Lower taxes, fewer

17/20 regulations, and minimal public services are held up as ideals. Yet the economic data tells a starkly different story. It boggles my mind that Republican voters KEEP voting for the SAME party that keeps them as poor as possible while THEY become MILLIONAIRES ON A $174,000 a

18/20 year job, never interested in the welfare of their people. And yet their constituents will KEEP voting for them, instead of sending them PACKING. If enough Republican voters did this their party would get the message, but apparently they LIKE being poor. They sure as HELL

19/20 are not getting ANY help from their elected leaders, who can't win elections without cheating because their policies SUCK ASS, especially now because their people are FINALLY seeing that their Republican politicians KEEP them poor while keeping themselves and the rich even

20/20 RICHER. Programs the Democrats gave us:
1. Social Security
2. Medicare
3. Medicaid
4. SNAP benefits (Food)
5. Medical Insurance
6. The Voting Rights Act
7. The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 further lowered prescription drug costs and capped insulin prices for seniors.
