Whoever says this before going to sleep, his sins will be forgiven - even if they are as countless as the foam of the sea.
wa Huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in Qadir.
La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
Subhan-Allahi, wal-hamdu lillahi,
wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu Akbar.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever says this before going to sleep, his sins will be forgiven, even if they are as countless as the foam of the sea.” (Sahih Ibn Hibban, 3414)
Think about the words: the foam of the sea.
Stand at the shore. Every wave breaks into endless bubbles. Multiply that across every ocean on earth, something beyond counting.
And yet the Prophet ﷺ is telling us: even that amount… is not beyond Allah’s mercy. Subhan’Allah.
