5 THINGS YOU SHOULD DO WHEN YOU FINALLY HEAL FROM TRAUMA;

1: Stop looking over your shoulder.

You are so used to waiting for the next disaster that peace feels like a trap. It is not a trap.The air is actually clear now. Drop your shoulders. You can breathe without permission.

2: Reintroduce yourself to yourself.

The person you were before the hurt is gone. The person you were during survival mode is also gone. Sit in a quiet room and figure out who is left. What do you actually like when you aren’t just trying to survive?

3: Apologize to your body.

Your chest was tight for years. Your stomach was in knots. Your brain stayed awake to protect you. Thank your physical self for carrying that heavy weight. Promise it that it doesn't have to fight anymore.

4: Learn the sound of a normal day.

Tragedy makes a lot of noise. Healing is incredibly quiet, and that quiet can feel terrifying or boring at first. Sit with the silence. Let the lack of chaos become your new baseline, even if it feels weird.

5: Don't become the monster that hurt you.

It is easy to stay cold and guarded so nobody can ever touch you again. But numbness isn’t healing, it’s just frozen pain. Let yourself be soft again. Being vulnerable is where your actual power lives.
