Exactly one year ago, one of the most brilliant and fearless Dalit minds of our generation, #RohithVemula was forced to give up on life.

Exactly a year ago, #HyderabadUniversity students faced a severe crackdown with no food, water, electricity on campus for protesting his death

Since that day, his mother #RadhikaVemula & brother #RajaVemula have been traveling the country so no bright Dalit mind is lost like Rohith

Today,on his death anniversary the woman who raised her children by stitching clothes has been arrested for garlanding her dead son's statue

#RadhikaVemula #RajaVemula were barred from entering the #HyderabadUniversity to remember #RohithVemula on the day he died

Now one year later, protesting students have again been threatened with no electricity, or worse food and water on #HyderabadU campus

#RohithVemula died but he stripped the caste discrimination of its bureaucratic layers for everyone to see what happens when a Dalit dies

As Dalits, we're reminded repeatedly: mourn as victims. Don't protest/ask for your rights & think you'll get the freedom to grieve your loss

That's why #Rohith's biological father was duly escorted in a police vehicle to pay his tributes at his statute

Even tho he played no role in #Rohith's upbringing but promptly backed the mythical narrative of his not being Dalit

#RadhikaVemula, the woman who raised him was barred from entering, but the abandoning father was escorted into #HyderabadU by the police
