1.Soldier wearing heavy scaled armour, holding Trishula/Sai weapon and Shield, Punjab(modern Pakistan)
Dated: ~2nd century CE
Here we can see soldier holding a Tri-pronged Sai like weapon. Shaft of weapon is small compared to Trishula(Trident). #ReclaimTemples #Gandhara #weapon

2.Chanakya mentioned various types of Armours in his monumental treatise Arthashastra. Lohajáliká, patta, kavacha, and sútraka are varieties of armour made of iron or of skins hoofs and horns of porpoise, rhinoceros, bison, elephant or cow. Likewise sirastrána (cover for the

3.head), kanthatrána (cover for the neck) kúrpása (cover for the trunk), kanchuka(a coat extending as far as the knee joints), váravána(a coat extending as far as the heels), patta,(a coat without cover for the arms), and nágodariká (gloves) are varieties of armour.

4. Middle prong is longer than flanking ones by a factor of 2:1. This is earliest depiction of Sai which later became popular in Indonesia and Japan. It was wielded likely in a same way as Sai, useful in close combats.

Shield is decorated with lotus flowers. Armour appears to be

5 quite sophisticated. These sculptures evidently proves that armour was an essential part of war soldiers which is exact opposite to what is portrayed in Cinema and TVs(for the purpose of perception moulding).

6.In famous hollywood movie Alexander they showed bare chested Indians soldiers fighting greeks, even king wasn't wearing Armours. Height of mockery!
