NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION BEGINS AUDIT OF @PoliceNG DETENTION CELLS IN NIGERIA
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris NPM, mni has approved the request of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) #PoliceAccountability#IGPIdris
to commence an independent audit of detention cells in all police commands and formations in Nigeria including those of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
These visits will enable the NHRC oversee the human rights situation of detainees as well as undertake

general audit of the state of police detention facilities (cells) in the country. This exercise is part of the NHRC 2018 audit of police detention centers in Nigeria.
The NHRC was established by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) ACT, 1995 as amended to

RE: ALLEGED EXTORTION OF MR. NWOSU NDUBUISI
Further to the earlier statement issued on the alleged Extortion of one Mr. Ndubuisi Nwosu by some officers of Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, investigation was carried out, the officers
allegedly involved in the extortion have been identified and detained, while disciplinary proceedings have commenced against them.
The sum of Two Million Three Hundred Thousand Naira (N2,300,000) has been recovered and returned to Mr. Ndubuisi Nwosu.

OGUN POLICE DISMISS 3 OFFICERS FOR EXTORTION.
The three policemen, who were involved in the forceful extortion of One hundred and fifty three thousand naira from one Sheriff Adedigba have been dismissed
from service.
The three policemen namely Inspector Sunday John, Sgt Jimoh Asimiya and Sgt Solomon Adedapo were alleged to have forcefully extorted the said amount from the victim while he was traveling from Abeokuta to Lagos. Having heard about the incident on social media,
the commissioner of police cp Edward Awolowo Ajogun ordered the immediate arrest and detention of the officers involved in the dastardly act. The three policemen were quickly identified and apprehended. The money was recovered from them and returned to the victim.

The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed one AP No 278055 Inspector Jonathan Kampani, attached to Mounted Troop of the Nigeria Police Force, for firing and killing one Jelili Bakare at Quinox Lounge, Sangotedo Area of Lagos State, on 18th March, 2021.
The Command has conveyed the dimissal of the erring Inspector from the Nigeria Police to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID, Panti, Yaba via letter numbered AR. 3100/LS/ SPM/vol.2/321
LAGOS POLICE DISMISS, PROSECUTE COP FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER OF LADY FRIEND
The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed and prosecuted one Sgt Eze Aiwansoba, m, attached to the Special Protection Unit, Base 16, Ikeja,
for firing and attempting to kill his lady friend, Joy Ndubueze, f, on 8th October, 2020, at Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja of Lagos State.
The incident was referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Lagos State Police Command for investigation where it was
revealed that the ex-policeman has a case to answer.

Following is the DPO concerned on the matter as an interim, the position of the Imo police command is still being awaited : I think the PPRO has largely debunked this erroneous video clip.
But for those who are more interested in sharing it, I wish to say I'm the DPO Owerri North Division, and I'm not in that video, and nobody fought over money on the road.
The person in that clip is my DTO, an ASP who was viciously attacked by a driver and his friend who drove against traffic close to Toronto junction along MCC - URATTA Road yesterday.
A traffic policeman stopped him but he called his bluff.
