Jesus is called the Author and Finisher of our faith. Our faith in His finished work on the cross on our behalf begins our journey down the path of faith, and He who began a good work in us will carry it through to the end!
Hebrews 12:1-4
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
There will be many times in our life we will cry out to the LORD, “LORD, I need You; LORD we need You, LORD, please send help!”
Christian’s are not immune to pain and suffering in this life. Our salvation does not give us a way around trials—but rather a Way through them.
If you’ve read through your Bible, or sat in a Bible class, or church service that teaches the whole Word, you will have heard about what God’s children have endured throughout history.
Why do we keep looking for peace and justice in political leaders, or movements? Maybe we do so because deep down, we’re longing for our true King!
When we pray for justice and peace on earth, or when we pray “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” we are asking for God’s divine order to be fully established.
This includes the ultimate fulfillment of His righteous rule—realized through the return of Jesus Christ!
What are you facing today, beloved? Fear, uncertainty, anxiety? You're not alone.
Jesus said this —
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
Even as children of God, we are not immune to the tribulations in this world, in fact God’s Word tells us that He allows these for His purposes.
Isaiah 48:10
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
Beloved, we have been given so much. Even when we did not deserve it—God lavished His love, mercy, and grace upon us!
At what cost? His beloved Son, Jesus Christ! And He didn’t wait for us to reach out to Him, to ask for salvation, or for His grace, mercy, and forgiveness. He poured out Himself, even unto death on the cross!
When did He do this—while we were still sinners!
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:7–11
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
