For those who may not know why thousands of Salvadorans, Guatemalans, Hondurans are risking everything to seek asylum or enter the United States they are fleeing some of the most violent countries in the world known as the Northern Triangle.
Central America’s Violent Northern Triangle
cfr.org/backgrounder/c…
"Tens of thousands of Salvadorans, Guatemalans, and Hondurans, many of them unaccompanied minors, have arrived in the United States in recent years, seeking asylum from the region’s skyrocketing violence. Their countries, which form a region known as the Northern Triangle, "
"The number of asylum seekers originating from the Northern Triangle reached 110,000 in 2015, a five-fold increase from 2012. Unaccompanied minors accounted for much of this surge [PDF]. Migrants from all three countries cite violence, forced gang recruitment, and extortion, "
Violence against women and femicide (the murder of women) is another major factor. 2016/17 are the most recent years for data.
Take five: Fighting femicide in Latin America shar.es/anAoe5 via @UN_Women
"The data we have comes from the 2016 Small Arms Survey gendered analysis on violent deaths, which tells us that among the 25 countries with the highest rates of femicide in the world, 14 are from Latin America and the Caribbean."
"In Latin America, we have a culture of high tolerance towards violence against women and girls. You see it in the media all the time—crimes against women are exhibited with very crude images and nobody seems to care about it. Violence becomes normalized;"
Watch “Migrant Children Fleeing Violence: Karla’s Story” on #Vimeo vimeo.com/183338500
"Family and domestic violence is also a factor in the decision to migrate for many women and children. El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala are some of the most dangerous countries to be a woman, with female homicide rates among the highest in the world."
2015 statistics are the most current I could find.
I understand the legal vs illegal argument but what would you do for your family if you were living in the conditions these people face daily? What would you do as a single mother with children living in these conditions?
After reading this thread I hope you may have a better understanding of why single women with children or families will risk everything to seek asylum or enter the U.S. If not you are devoid of compassion.

The GOP gives us a pittance and then...
“For those earning $1 million annually, a tax break buried in the recent coronavirus relief legislation is so generous that its total cost is more than total new funding for all hospitals"
“Someone wrongly seized on this health emergency to reward ultrarich beneficiaries, likely including the Trump family, with a tax loophole not available to middle class families. This net operating loss loophole is a loser that should be repealed"

The GOP does not want to follow their own rules written and submitted by Goodlatte to Boehner PG H576 - H578 26JAN15. They only want to play by the rules when it suites their agenda including subpoenas. Facts and truth do not apply to the GOP and MAGA.

📢45 reduced fines for nursing homes that commit abuse, fraud or have substandard facilities. This will encourage more to put profit over patients and affect the care of our infirm and elderly. This thread is to raise awareness of this system and how we can prevent it.
H/T to Patricia Revists Patrick Henry 💙@2021_free for posting this article that inspired this thread
"the average fine for nursing homes decreased to $28,405 under Trump...down from $41,260 in 2016, former President Obama's last year in office."

The NPR article quoted by The Hill additionally states,

"Encouraged by the nursing home industry, the Trump administration switched from fining nursing homes for each day they were out of compliance as the Obama administration typically did...

As we all know Fox News is 45's propaganda outlet, but did you know they have been influencing voters since 2000? They have had 19 years to hone their craft and addict people to their style of "news" and yes I said addict. I will explain this addiction in this thread.
A little history review on voting and FOX viewers:

"Americans who say they voted for Trump in the general election relied heavily on Fox News as their main source of election news leading up to the 2016 election,"

Source:pewrsr.ch/2iRUxfg
We know the effect FOX had in 2016, but did you know they affected 2000 - 2008 elections?

"Fox News played an increasingly important role in presidential elections between 2000 and 2008. Their analysis suggests that, had the network not existed (and no similarly conservative"
