My passion for Aretha Franklin & soul music really started at such a young age. I collected so many box sets, records & 45’s. She is hands down one of my favorite artists & I still rotate through her CD’s in my car & know every lyric. I am still SO blessed I got to see her live.
I knew she was very ill & I have been dreading today for years. My parents suprised me & flew me to DC on my 18th birthday to see her and I remember riding up to the venue still not knowing what was going on and just immediately started bawling when I saw her name.
She is so incredibly talented, one of the best female voices in all of history. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Aretha Franklin she is such a huge part of my personality. All through out my freshman yr of college my family would send me her records &apparel once a month
RIP to truly one of the BEST and most influential artists in all of history.
