Today we got a text from our closest neighbors, a quarter mile away. There was a dog in their front yard, and they wondered if it was ours. They thought maybe it couldn’t see well?
Naturally, we ran over to the garden—and sure enough, Hari was missing.
It was very windy earlier, and the garden door had blown open. Hari must have wandered out, gotten disoriented, and been unable to find his way back. The wind makes it hard for him to follow his nose.
We jumped in the car to pick him up. The moment we came around the corner, we spotted him in the distance! He has a very distinctive trot, almost like a show pony; he lifts his feet high up so he doesn’t trip.
Do you see Hari?
Hari was acting brave, although he must have been frightened. The moment he heard our voices his whole posture changed and he started prancing with excitement.
It was a short drive home.
Hari’s sister, Refried, was waiting for him.
I LOOKED EVERYWHERE FOR U
Next time you have an adventure, let’s do it together, ok?

I’m very excited because I figured out how to embed images in a Patreon story to make it more like a twitter thread! Here’s part two in a series on unlikely sled dog friendships. patreon.com/posts/unlikely…
If you're wondering where the sled dog stories are these days, we have mostly moved them to Patreon for the time being. Recent stories include A Day in the Life of Hari, Boo Predicts the Future, and a vlog of Pepé enjoying a “spa day” at a hotel.
If you sign up, you’ll get sled dog stories straight to your inbox to brighten your day! Some levels also get zines, postcards, and other surprises in the mail.
