Today’s article in The Sunday Times is just the tip of the iceberg in what has become a relentless barrage of unending transphobic, trans-hostile and insidiously undermining articles published over the last 18 months!😕
The Times has systematically and repeatedly painted a picture of trans people as a “lobby” group of dogmatic and threatening “activists” who have some sort of unlimited power to “demand” rights of politicians and policy makers.
The truth is far from this.
Times journalists have consistently labelled trans people “bullies” & aggressors - Repeatedly drip-feeding the British public a negative narrative about the transgender community.
Often headlines are inflammatory and misleading - legally compliant by judicious use of “quotes”!
Many of the misleading stories in The Times have been fed by virulent anti-transgender campaigners to ‘sympathetic’ Times journalists.
Targeting regular trans people or small groups and placing them in the glare of the media spotlight and nationwide scrutiny.
Intimidating.
Times articles are regularly positioned to undermine trans kids and any support for them. Promoting fear in parents that their children may be “transed” or that trans children are a potential threat.
Teachers and organisations following the 2010 Equality Act is considered “bad”.
Criminals (who happen to be transgender) are routinely used as a ‘scare tactic’ by The Times - to cement in the UK public’s mind that trans women ‘pose a threat to women’.
Say it enough times, and people believe it! 😞
In fact, over the last 18 months, The Times have taken any opportunity to put down trans people, paint them as demanding, strange, weird and ‘other’ - dehumanising, demeaning and demonising them to the British public.
This has been a concerted campaign of anti-trans propaganda.
Whilst painting trans people as aggressors and potential rapists, The Times have looked to position themselves as ‘calm’ and ‘balanced’ and supporters of ‘free speech’ (all the while promoting a singular, inflammatory trans-hostile perspective week after week)
The Times is not the only ‘culprit’ - National mainstream news media in the U.K. has now got to such a dire situation that newspapers are being called out by international branches of their own publication for their trans-hostile journalism ⤵️ theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
You would think that The @guardian as the UK’s ‘left wing’ national newspaper, would be supporting #trans equality? But no, even it has turned against the transgender community in favour of ‘clicks’ for conflict! 😕 gaystarnews.com/article/guardi…
Online platforms are also actively campaigning against trans people. Most noticeably Mumsnet - now notoriously known as the ‘4chan for radical feminists’.
.@victor_madrigal made an amazing statement on behalf of the @UN last month, calling out violence against #transgender people ⤵️ ohchr.org/en/issues/sexu…
I write this tweet thread on behalf of the UK trans community. For all the trans people without access to a massively influential national news media platform.
I have to resort to Twitter, and my comparatively few followers, but hope someone will take notice and action 🙏🏻
Following my original tweet thread on 11.11.18 The Times have stepped up their vitriolic attacks on trans people and trans kids in particular 😕
I’m therefore adding to this tweet thread further proof of their targeted trans-hostile articles...
Here is the latest coordinated attack on @Mermaids_Gender by The Times “journalist” Janice Turner! ⤵️ archive.is/GPb5i
This, despite being provided with reputable evidence in Mermaids public statement (ignored by The Times, of course!) 😣⤵️ facebook.com/19204638422547…

In the interests of accuracy, it’s probably worth noting that the news of Hilary Cass leading the review of GIDS was actually announced on 30th January 2020 in the @NHSEngland website…
At the time of Hilary Cass’ appointment, Liz Truss was the Minister for Women & Equalities and Matt Hancock was the Minister for Health.
Both of which *could* have had influence over her appointment (which is possible knowing Truss’ ‘gender critical’ transphobic views)…
However, there was no overt indication that Hillary Cass was transphobic before her appointment - the closest thing to being ‘favourable to the ‘GC’ position’ was that she’d previously taken legal action against the NHS after ‘whistleblowing’…
The Cass Review recommendations have finally been published by @NHSEngland and it’s as dire as you might imagine! 😣
👉🏻
Some highlights…
The NHS says GPs CAN NOT now refer to the youth gender service. Instead going via CAMHS for “assessment” first! 😣 england.nhs.uk/commissioning/…
Once reaching 17 yrs 9m old, any young person not seen by the youth gender service will be dismissed back to their GP to be referred to the GIC (despite the GP not being considered qualified enough to refer them in the first place) 🤷🏼♀️
But don’t worry… the NHS are developing a “pass through” service (for trans ADULTS age 18-25) - presumably designed to STOP them passing through transition by further gatekeeping at the insistence of their ‘gender critical’ transonic parents/ clinicians? 🤔
Outraged by the double standards in UK healthcare! 🚨 Why are puberty blockers for trans youth scrutinised for being "off-label" when meds like tricyclic antidepressants & asthma treatments are routinely prescribed off-label to minors without similar outrage?
#CassReview
The inconsistency is alarming! Many meds prescribed to minors, like tricyclic antidepressants for ADHD & Montelukast for allergies, haven’t undergone randomised control trials in under 18s. Yet, there’s silence. Why the bias when it comes to puberty blockers for trans youth?
Did you know? Tricyclic antidepressants are prescribed off-label for ADHD in kids, potentially causing serious side effects like heart issues & severe depression. Yet, there's no public outcry. Why the selective concern when it comes to puberty blockers for trans youth?
Let’s have a look at why trans pupils might need teachers to keep their confidence and NOT ‘out’ them to potentially ‘gender critical’ transphobic parents…
@aktcharity research shows 77% of young homeless LGBT people believe coming out to parents was the main factor!…
61% of young homeless trans people said that they felt threatened or at risk of violence from family members prior to their homelessness! 😞
Parents aren’t always supportive of their LGBTQ+ children, and there’s no way of telling how they’ll react!
74% of young homeless trans people said they were repeatedly belittled by their family members to the extent they felt worthless.
64% said that family members stopped them expressing their trans identity before becoming homeless! 😔
It’s clear that for many ‘gender critical’ transphobes, being a transphobic bigot is just a recreational activity! 😣
These heartless transphobes clearly have no life outside of their obsessive bigoted campaigning!
They spent hours in the rain videoing themselves outside different Costa Coffee’s, all because of a trans-inclusive mural on the side of a coffee van in Brighton 2 years ago! 😣
This isn’t normal behaviour! #TERFCult #RecreationalTransphobia
It’s obvious for a certain demographic of privileged, entitled, bored, transphobes, ‘gender critical’ “activism” is just a jolly wheeze and an opportunity to socialise with likeminded bigots! 😖
They’ve told themselves it’s “feminism” to avoid acknowledging it’s just bigotry!
Remember when @AoCPPtweet was criticised for hosting anti-trans hate group ‘Transgender Trend’ and they apologised and said they wanted to hear from a “wide range of perspectives”?
Since then they’ve platformed THREE anti-trans campaigners and NO trans people/trans-supporters!..
In February 2022 - only 4 months after it was brought to their attention that ‘Transgender Trend’ was an anti-trans lobby platform - @AoCPPtweet invited its founder, Stephanie Davies-Arai back to speak (indoctrinate) safeguarding professionals! 😣…
Then in April 2022 @AoCPPtweet invited prolific anti-trans campaigner Stella O’Malley to “advise” their members on how they should treat children with gender dysphoria! 😖…
