Most Americans understand that New York City is not the United States of America by nearly every measure.
1)

Yet, the NY-based media gives everyone a different image, making it seem that what happens in NYC actually is like America and represents a lot about American thought and life.
2)

These Democratic Socialists who are getting elected in NYC could not get elected with their rhetoric in any other state in the Union in any numbers. It is the particular population mix in NY that makes those people successful, but it won’t work in almost the rest of the USA.
