THREAD: Anti-Trump Democrats in Washington have egg on their face. They’re reacting inconsistently and frantically as the Mueller investigation winds down absent proof of collusion.
Adam Schiff has promised for months that he “had the goods” showing “demonstrable evidence” of Trump’s collusion with Russia. It’s evidence we’ve never seen because it doesn’t exist.
To cover for this now-exposed lie, House Democrats just launched a new 81-pronged investigation. They aren’t just fishing; they’re fishing with dynamite
This new zeal for endless, unfocused probing of the executive branch in the name of “oversight” is a newfound passion for House Democrats.
Democrats’ harassment of President Trump today makes their silence during the Obama administration even more conspicuous.
Under Obama, hundreds of millions of dollars was given to Palestinian-affiliated groups, as well as the UNRWA, which employs many members of Hamas.
Foreign aid to terrorist organizations? No hearings. No document requests. No subpoenas. apnews.com/b8446cbf5b504b…
How about the Obama administration keeping tabs on critics of ObamaCare? Trying to collect data on (and silence) political opposition? No hearings. No document requests.
How about Obama’s vast and wasteful “stimulus package,” which stunted job growth, wasted public funds, and — surely coincidentally! — only benefited solidly “blue” states and districts? No hearings. No document requests. No subpoenas. townhall.com/columnists/dav…
Holding hearings is the purview of the majority, and during the first years of the Obama admin, Dems could not be bothered.
Compare that to Dems today. They sent letters to the White House and every department in the Executive Branch, demanding documents, testimony & information
Where was the Scooby Gang when America needed them, when we had a reckless and destructive Executive Branch in desperate need of scrutiny? They were drinking the Kool-Aid, and pretending that nothing was wrong.
If Democrats insist on looking for skeletons in the closet, they should take a long look at themselves. They’ve hidden more than their fair share.
During Congressman Gaetz’s time in office, we have been behind the scenes every step of the way. We have staffed his meetings. We have planned his events. We have traveled with him. And we have tracked his schedule. (2/7)
Congressman Gaetz has always been a principled and morally grounded leader. At no time has any one of us experienced or witnessed anything less than the utmost professionalism and respect. No hint of impropriety. No ounce of untruthfulness. (3/7)
For all their accusations about Republicans harming Democracy, House Democrats have jeopardized the legitimacy of every future U.S. election by passing H.R. 1.
It erodes the verification process in voting, literally banning state-enacted photo ID safeguards. (1/4)
House Democrats apparently think voting is less worthy of identity protection than boarding aircraft or buying cigarettes. (2/4)
Election fraud should be investigated, not legitimized through the provisions of this legislation that legalize ballot harvesting and ensure a growing, unmanageable universe of mail ballots. (3/4)
President @realDonaldTrump has done the right thing by vetoing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
This bill, which I opposed on the House floor, is a slap in the face to the America First movement. (1/4)
It greatly limits the President’s ability to remove troops from foreign lands, and to draw down endless, unconstitutional wars.
Additionally, it does nothing to reform Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. (2/4)
Section 230 is a gift to tech companies, placing them above the law; furthermore, our adversaries have begun to use its expansive protections to undermine America’s national security. (3/4)
Democrats quietly acknowledged the outlandish provisions in their omnibus legislation tonight by splitting their original legislation into two separate votes. (1/9)
I voted “yes” on the half of the bill which funds our military and provides a pay raise for the brave men and women who serve America. (2/9)
I voted “no” on the second half of the spending bill, which provides windfalls to corporate special interests, while simultaneously shortchanging American citizens. (3/9)

The blockbuster correspondence — which flies in the face of Joe Biden’s claim that he’s “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings” — is contained in a massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer.
