Do yourselves a favor - and tune out for two weeks.

Seriously. Move your Twitter and Facebook and Reddit apps to the last page on your phone so you can’t habitually open them.

Replace them with Books or something else. Stop consuming news.
The vast majority of people won’t do this, but god damn does it give you perspective on all of this day to day.

I was lured back for a second by the news of declas, so I’m dipping in to see what’s up with that.

But it’s stupid.
I haven’t watched CNN in about a month (I used to watch all the time to see what Don Lemon was gesticulating about)

I just turned it on for a sec to see if they were reacting to Declas

He’s dramatically babbling about President Trump raising his voice in a meeting or something.
“This President is trying to distract you” says Don.

Distract me? What makes you assume I was paying any attention whatsoever?

Fucking self absorbed. All of them.

I laughed at the President’s jokes and turned it off again.
Like I said, Trump won. Fucking legend, that man.

He’s got this, so I can focus on other things.

But people in the real world don’t really think or talk about politics that much day to day.

It’s better that way.
And Trust, I know it’s fun to follow the day to day narratives and storylines

But getting perspective on all of this is a panacea.

Highly recommend it.

The word “Trump supporters” no longer has meaning in the mainstream.

We’re now America Supporters, and Trump is one of our presidents and our talented billionaires.

The rest of the world will take a while to come to terms with this.
What you will see, is that the organs of the state will be slow on this. You’re going to witness a period of Trump Withdrawal Syndrome - a media and populace that has spent 4 years on the speedcrack of a Trump high will not have a target and their fire will suffocate.
Many of those who stand in opposition to MAGA ideas and principles only do so because they are jacked up by this singular orange man as a figure. They watch the character show of politics - a play orchestrated by the media. Without that, they will experience moments of openness.

The laws are written to protect the swamp, ubiquitously, everywhere in the nation

There once was a poor man who walked around without shoes.

His feet were covered in calluses.

One day, a rich man felt sorry for the poor man and bought him a pair of nikes.
The poor man was extremely grateful and wore the shoes constantly. He was overjoyed! Such a simple gesture by the rich man had improved his lot greatly.

After a year or so, the shoes fell apart. The poor man had to go back to walking around barefoot.
He did so, but now his calluses were gone and his feet got all cut up and soon the cuts became infected and the man got sick and eventually, after they cut off his legs, he died.

OkCupid has had a major brand initiative for 2020, they are actively trying to court woke social justice millennials/leftists as their primary customer base. The implications of this are pretty funny to think about (thread)
Woke Capitalism is extremely stupid for a few reasons.

Primarily, big companies are dinosaurs and leviathans. They sense the cultural impact, but they simply are not agile enough to keep up in the culture war landscape
The "Social Justice" or Wokeness movement is utterly phrenetic. Their preferences and definitions seem to change on a weekly basis. New history months seem to spring up all the time. Totally suboptimal for rigid corporate marketing initiatives that take a ton of time to implement
