I’m reporting from City Hall this evening for @LBC where we expect to get the #EUelections2019 results in the next few hours.

Turnout in the capital is much higher than in previous years - 41.3% - a good sign for the Remain-backing parties.

Things to watch out for:
Labour - last time Labour's best region was London, sending four MEPs to Europe from the Capital. How many can they hold - will Remaimers just throw their weight behind the LibDems / Greens / ChangeUK ?

UKIP - UKIP have only one MEP from London, but it's their leader Gerard Batten. Could he lose his seat tonight with Leave votes moving to the Brexit Party?

Lib Dems - they are very hopeful tonight. They don't have any MEPs from London at the moment but you have to think that'll change given the strength of anti-Brexit feeling in the Capital. Also turnout in LibDem voting areas is said to be VERY high.

Conservatives - they have two MEPs in London. Same story here as in the rest of the country ... just how bad could tonight be for the Tories?

Greens - they already have one MEP, could they get more? Certainly the Extinction Rebellion protests will have raised awareness of climate change as a political issue in the Capital over the past few months...

Change UK - London is really their one big hope to get an elected seat since the party was established. Can they pull it off? There's a sense LibDem/ Greens may have beaten them to the Remain vote...
