To elaborate on my saying impeaching trump in 2019 would keep 2020 “pristine”...
1st, the Johnson & Clinton impeachments were 3-4 months start to finish. The sooner it starts the sooner it ends the longer of a buffer to Election Day 2020 to cleanse the palette.

2nd, Kavanaugh: the hearing was the end of Sept. GOP was in a lather like they hadn’t been under trump. The midterms only 5 wks away. “Liberals are holding a seat hostage” would‘ve been a real motivator.
