Ktown- Sushi- Takeout Sushi and Roll
3280 W 6th St
This place has insanely high-quality sushi. Super fresh and consistently delicious. Everyone comes to Ktown for Kbbq but this place is a gem. Some things aren't on the menu ask about Yellowtail Ceviche with Seaweed tempura… https://t.co/0el9BOduEetwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Ktown- Gourmet Fusion Sandwiches- "Open Market"
3339 Wilshire Blvd
One of the best sandwich shops in LA hands down. This food is all made fresh to order and very unique. I HIGHLY recommend the Olympic sandwich. Never had anything like it. Very refreshing and BOLD flavors. https://t.co/5HIWBZU2HRtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
At my first AAA studio job in the industry, I was a victim of sexual assault from a male peer. He was known to get into fights at work parties due to his homophobia and he sexually assaulted me in my own home IN FRONT OF HIS GF. ( who shamed me when I tried to ask for help)
I was only able to defend myself because I know martial arts. I refrained from hurting him because I know he was drunk but it was still terrifying. He was way bigger than me. I was lucky that my roommate and other peer came home and witnessed what was happening.
Unfortunately, he was also sexually assaulted. He almost beat the shit out of the guy but I asked him not to because he was very drunk. I tried talking about the assault the next day and explained that he had groped me and forcefully kissed me etc, but he only wanted to apologize-
Really disappointed with the iPad IOS 14 reveal. Doesn't seem to be many features that benefit artists or improve split-screen workflow specifically for creating art.
Sidebar will be slightly helpful if procreate decides to add some more fast/ easy access to more tools hidden in their UI menus, but it does little to help with referencing images while drawing. We need better split-screen options! @Apple
We really need a floating window that is more scalable and doesn't block important UI in other apps that are located around the edges of the screen. @Apple
I want to work in an industry where EVERYONE is held accountable for what they say and do regardless of their position of power, or gender. Are you human? You do some grimy ass shit? You better believe I'll talk. I'm not your doormat or your dirty clothes hamper.
There be some horribly emotionally unstable, self-destructive, self-centered, manipulative PEOPLE in this industry with LONG histories of doing fucked up shit to people. Don't fuck with me or my peers. I don't really like cancel culture on the internet. Confront this shit head on
Some things to look out for.
*UNDERSTAND WHAT GASLIGHTING IS* It can become a very nuanced thing with people who are good with words or people who have a big support group.
*UNDERSTAND WHAT SCAPEGOATING IS* make sure people are held accountable every step of the way in a decision
#GameDevPaidMe Lab Zero Games -
I had 6-7 years experience
Hired as contract senior environment artist- 42 an hour
I asked for 50 and the female ( POC )producer tried to low ball me more with 40 an hour. I agreed to 42 an hour to start as contract. It gets so much worse.
They continued to pile on more work with more responsibilities ( like how I needed to now make a whole level for a new demo of the game ) So more work more hours without actually getting paid for those hours. ( The CEO at the time had no idea the producer did this )
Eventually, I asked for 90k as a LEAD environment artist full time and they low balled at 80k
Also I never signed a contract that stated what my new salary or position was. ALSO they didn't credit me as a lead environment artist on the game credits. ( I quit before launch )
Developers need to do better than this. So many people I know say they are allies and retweet all the things then turn around and say HORRIBLE shit like this.
