I do care, Senator Graham. And your apathy is disgusting. These are children and families seeking a better life. They deserve to be treated fairly and humanely. vanityfair.com/news/2019/07/l…
We have laws but we also have hearts. It’s time for fresh leadership to bring back basic humanity to our enforcement of immigration laws. Time to go, Sen. Graham. #SendLindseyHome
As we brought voices of voters of color to the forefront and embarked on the most inclusive Democratic primary in history, Democrats across the country – from South Carolina to Nevada, from Michigan to Georgia – have chosen @JoeBiden to be our party’s presumptive nominee.
Four years ago, President Biden ran on the values that bring us together: honesty, decency, and fairness. We've made historic progress — creating 15 million jobs, lowering prescription drug costs, and rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure — but there is more work to be done.
This November we face two different visions for America.
Donald Trump is running a campaign focused on revenge, retribution, and his own self-interest. President Biden is running a campaign focused on what makes our country so great: the American people.
🧵 Sharing a life lesson I learned as a young staffer for @RepJamesClyburn.
One day I was complaining to the Congressman about the need for more youth involvement. He agreed but cautioned me to not be singularly focused on age. He said: “Jaime, which would you prefer an old Thurgood Marshall or a young Clarence Thomas?”
In the end it isn’t about the age of a leader, but the values, perspectives, & fundamental beliefs of that leader.
Joe Biden’s age and experiences have provided him wisdom, insight, empathy, and a fundamental understanding that the American Dream is meant for all of America’s people.
Biden inherited the reins of a nation in the midst of a pandemic, with a crippled economy, and a democracy bludgeon from an insurrection… but despite it all he brought us back from the brink of disaster and achieved some of the greatest legislative achievements of a generation. From investing in the nation’s infrastructure, to creating millions of new jobs by rebuilding our manufacturing capacity, to repairing our reputation on the world stage, to lowering healthcare costs & investing in the fight against the climate crisis, Joe Biden navigated the chaos of Washington and delivered for America.
I can’t say that about an old and unhinged, twice-impeached, Donald Trump, who has done so much to destroy our democracy, abandon our foreign allies, embrace brutal dictators, attack our nation’s veterans, and rip away the fundamental rights of women to control their own bodies. (There aren’t enough characters to cover all that he has done to hurt America and the American people.)
Thread: We’re launching a historic effort to reach voters where they are and in the languages they speak to ensure we are building a broad coalition of support as we head into election year 👇🏾 nbcnews.com/politics/2024-…
The stakes have never been higher and through this Get Out the Vote campaign in South Carolina and Nevada, voters will get the information they need in their local papers, on the airwaves, online, and in their communities to make their voices heard at the ballot box.
In South Carolina, we’re investing in a six-figure ad campaign to mobilize and reach Black voters, young voters, and rural voters. With this innovative campaign, we’re reaching voters to make sure the #FITN primary on February 3 is a success! scdailygazette.com/2024/01/26/nat…

🧵Not only did last night’s election result in Democratic victories from Virginia to Kentucky, but it also featured historic firsts up and down the ballot and all across the country!!
We had some mayors make history last night in CT and IN. In Hartford, Arunan Arulampalam will be the city’s first Sri Lankan mayor.
And over in Terre Haute, Brandon Sakbun was elected as the first Cambodian and Jamaican mayor!
Our friends over in Virginia had a number of historic firsts: In the State House, @AdeleMcClure_ became the first Black person and first Asian person to represent Arlington County and @MartyForUs and @PhilforVirginia are the first Latinos to represent their districts!
🧵 All about the numbers & @SpeakerMcCarthy has proven that numbers aren’t his strong suit.
Waking up to this headline (about economic numbers) gave @SpeakerMcCarthy nightmares. His 🤡 conference has set the new mark for the biggest crop of “Do Nothings” in American history.
Bidenomics is working! America’s economy is the envy of the world & SINO McCarthy is desperate to change the narrative.
McCarthy has accomplished zero… took him 15 votes to become Speaker & on the debt ceiling deal Leader @hakeemjeffries had to bail him out with Dem votes.
Bottomline is this:
⬆️ Jobs are up- 13 million
⬆️Wages are up
⬆️ American manufacturing is booming
⬆️ $ are flowing to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure
⬇️Unemployment is at a historic low
⬇️ Inflation has dropped 12 straight months
