As we brought voices of voters of color to the forefront and embarked on the most inclusive Democratic primary in history, Democrats across the country – from South Carolina to Nevada, from Michigan to Georgia – have chosen @JoeBiden to be our party’s presumptive nominee. Image Four years ago, President Biden ran on the values that bring us together: honesty, decency, and fairness. We've made historic progress — creating 15 million jobs, lowering prescription drug costs, and rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure — but there is more work to be done.

🧵 Sharing a life lesson I learned as a young staffer for @RepJamesClyburn.

One day I was complaining to the Congressman about the need for more youth involvement. He agreed but cautioned me to not be singularly focused on age. He said: “Jaime, which would you prefer an old Thurgood Marshall or a young Clarence Thomas?”

In the end it isn’t about the age of a leader, but the values, perspectives, & fundamental beliefs of that leader. Joe Biden’s age and experiences have provided him wisdom, insight, empathy, and a fundamental understanding that the American Dream is meant for all of America’s people.

Biden inherited the reins of a nation in the midst of a pandemic, with a crippled economy, and a democracy bludgeon from an insurrection… but despite it all he brought us back from the brink of disaster and achieved some of the greatest legislative achievements of a generation. From investing in the nation’s infrastructure, to creating millions of new jobs by rebuilding our manufacturing capacity, to repairing our reputation on the world stage, to lowering healthcare costs & investing in the fight against the climate crisis, Joe Biden navigated the chaos of Washington and delivered for America.

🧵Not only did last night’s election result in Democratic victories from Virginia to Kentucky, but it also featured historic firsts up and down the ballot and all across the country!! We had some mayors make history last night in CT and IN. In Hartford, Arunan Arulampalam will be the city’s first Sri Lankan mayor.

And over in Terre Haute, Brandon Sakbun was elected as the first Cambodian and Jamaican mayor!

🧵 All about the numbers & @SpeakerMcCarthy has proven that numbers aren’t his strong suit.

Waking up to this headline (about economic numbers) gave @SpeakerMcCarthy nightmares. His 🤡 conference has set the new mark for the biggest crop of “Do Nothings” in American history. Image Bidenomics is working! America’s economy is the envy of the world & SINO McCarthy is desperate to change the narrative.

McCarthy has accomplished zero… took him 15 votes to become Speaker & on the debt ceiling deal Leader @hakeemjeffries had to bail him out with Dem votes.

You remember when Republicans voted no & took the dough after @POTUS passed the largest infrastructure investment since Eisenhower.

Well, he just announced over $40 billion to expand broadband & naturally Republicans went right back to being the big ol' hypocrites they are. 🧵 Texas is set to receive $3.3 billion.

Senator Cornyn was quick to try to take credit despite voting no.

As @POTUS made a historic and unprecedented trip to Ukraine, MAGA Republicans, led by Trump, spent their long weekend not only attacking President Biden as he was standing with our allies, but undermining support for Ukraine as it fights back against Putin’s unprovoked war. 🧵 Last night, Donald Trump AGAIN bragged about his good relationship with Vladmir Putin, and how he trusted Putin more than his own intelligence community.

🧵Today, we are seeing more Black candidates running for statewide office as well as Black political operatives running statewide campaigns- i.e. uber-talent like @quentinfulks.

However, the glass breaker herself @donnabrazile will tell you this has not always been the case. Seeing Black political operatives in senior positions on campaigns was rare in presidential politics & specifically in SC.

Things began to shift after the DNC adjusted its presidential primary calendar in ‘06 & new opportunities began to emerge for Black operatives.

This week, Democrats kept fighting to lower costs & create good-paying jobs for working families across America — while Republicans like @GlennYoungkin doubled down on their extreme agenda to ban abortion and cut taxes for the ultra-wealthy. #WeeklyStatesRoundup 🧵 President Biden just keeps delivering win after win for the American people. On Tuesday, he signed the Respect for Marriage Act to protect marriage equality, no thanks to the 36 Senate Republicans who voted against it.

Last week, Dems defied expectations in the midterms and this week celebrated the one-year anniversary of @JoeBiden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

But the GOP is in disarray after millions of Americans rejected MAGA candidates and their extreme agenda. #WeeklyStatesRoundup 🧵 This week, I spoke with radio stations in WI, PA & CT about how Dems defied expectations in the midterms — and Republicans are racing to out-MAGA each other in the lead up to their presidential primary.

Thanks for having me, Keith Parris & @bshactman!

🧵20 years ago, I went to the Hill as a young staffer & since that time @SpeakerPelosi has always been our Leader. In her time as Speaker, Pelosi has been a tremendous force for good. She has been one of the most effective, consequential & powerful Speakers in our history. Image Under her leadership, we avoided a collapse of the American economy in '08 and secured the passage of landmark laws like the ACA, American Rescue Plan, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, & the Inflation Reduction Act. She accomplished all of this while unifying a very diverse caucus.

Thanks to @POTUS, American manufacturing is back.

If Republicans who voted against the CHIPS & Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, & Bipartisan Infrastructure Law got their way, our manufacturing boom would've never happened.

Here are the new jobs they voted against: 👇🏿🧵 IBM is investing $20 billion in new chip manufacturing facilities in New York after Democrats passed the CHIPS and Science Act:

We will not let the ultra-MAGA agenda win in November.
