1/ Today @propublica reported that Senator Burr sold between $582,029 and $1.56 million of his stock holdings on February 13 in 29 separate transactions, including companies vulnerable to a slowdown, like a hotel chain. propublica.org/article/senato…

1/ Mick Mulvaney's statement strengthens the argument for calling himself and John Bolton as witnesses at the impeachment trial.

In the statement below, Mulvaney claims, through his lawyer, that John Bolton is a liar.
2/ This statement settles nothing.

One reason for Mulvaney to speak through his attorney, rather than speaking himself, is to make it difficult to impeach him if these statements turn out to be false.

He is also obviously not under oath.
3/ It is often the case that witnesses give conflicting accounts of what happened. The way to settle that issue is for both witnesses to testify, so the judge or jurors (the Senators in this case) can assess their credibility and determine what happened.
