@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE (1953) is a peppy romantic-comedy which succeeds in bringing a smile to your face despite the far fetched storyline. My review!!! :)

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe The refreshing execution of the seemingly cliched and "liberal" plotline works big time, courtesy the butter-smooth screenplay which is packaged with the right amount of drama and humour without either being overdone.

Thoughts on HASEE TOH PHASEE (2014).
instagram.com/p/B3CWRM0nUFt/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe 'HUM TUM' manages to retain its likeability courtesy its smash hit music and the evergreen chemistry between the two leads!

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe Of all the films that have been made to depict the travesty of the gruesome World Wars, one film stands head and shoulders above every other depiction: Schindler's List (1993).

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe #Thappad forces the viewers to understand that domestic or any form of violence should not be taken lightly and that instead, society should come together to empower women and not just forcefully restrain their functioning and freedom only to the kitchen.

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe Director Frank Capra's 'You Can't Take It With You' (1938) is amusing enough in its attempt to project the eccentric characters and their share of histrionics on the big screen.

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe Elements of neo-noir, a fabulous small-town setting, & decent cinematography & performances help you sail through #BlowTheManDown, an Amazon Prime Original. Despite the vague climax & a thin plot, the film manages to appeal to those who are familiar with the work of Coen Brothers
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe #MeriPyaariBindu didn't make sense to me! Can be seen once if you're okay watching a pretentious rom-com. But Ayushmann is the only good thing about the film. Parineeti is hamming big time. While the emotions and the romance didn't connect at all, the comedy doesn't click either.
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe #Malang is pretty much an old wine served in a new bottle! Another mid-range Bollywood revenge drama that is blatantly draped in a trite love saga, good music, workable plot and performances, a familiar theme of vigilante justice, and a tabooed social concept.

One time watch!
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe #Kaamyaab (2020) pays a fitting tribute to the selfless group of character actors who have, for long, enriched the appeal of cinema with their incomparable contribution and unforgettable screen presence.

instagram.com/p/CAfkMUBHrgs/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe With #TheHalfOfIt, Director Alice Wu has done a fine job in conveying the fact that there is no perfect way to love; which is perhaps the only authentic thing about the concept of love itself.

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe #LittleWomen (2019) attempts to bring the powerlessness of women of the 19th century to the viewer's attention; all while shedding enough light on the domestic struggles and joys of the delightful March clan.

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe 'The Invitation' manages to create an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty courtesy its claustrophobic feel, engaging sound design, and the very anticipatory build-up!

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe Your *jailbreak* movie of the week, #EscapeFromPretoria will nudge you to root for the protagonists to escape while keeping you engaged enough to prevent you from escaping your home in these trying and testing times of a major global pandemic.

instagram.com/p/CBN6t5DHTXU/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe #TheHunt (2020) is a wickedly funny and fanciful actioner that resorts to some politically charged humour and well-choreographed action sequences to bring certain socio-political issues to light in its own exaggerated manner!

instagram.com/p/CBVsW2sn7wJ/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe It is rare to come across a magical piece of cinema whose irresistible charm, seamless narrative and regular story, told with immaculate storytelling, can connect with you at ‘once’. Maybe that's why such a film can only be titled... ONCE!

instagram.com/p/CBx-i_rFWCj/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe #Da5Bloods not only pays a fitting tribute to the black people who were used as mere pawns in the Vietnam War but also justifiably criticizes the prejudice and discrimination the colored people are still subjected to in the United States of America.

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe How often do you come across a film that manages to impact you emotionally even though you're more or less familiar with its storyline and also, perhaps, the sequence in which the events thereby unfold?

@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe 'Akaash Vani' (2013) throws light on issues like marital rape and post-marital love with incredible sensitivity and is remarkably restrained in its treatment, post the first 40 minutes of silliness.

instagram.com/p/CCgRGBwl2ti/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe JOJO RABBIT is a coming-of-age story about compassion & friendship that goes beneath its skin & uses the Second World War as a backdrop to convey how easily the society allows both blind nationalism and personal propagandas to boss over its fickle brain.

instagram.com/p/CCn70Dzlhbz/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe 'Under the Shadow' (2016) is a tight-knit drama that combines the shock of war with that of the supernatural to reflect upon the lives that were plunged into the darkness wherein fear, anxiety, patriarchy, and a 'djinn' (demon) coexist uneasily.

instagram.com/p/CCvtS5klQ7u/…
@swayinthewoods @navneet_mundhra @FuschiaScribe Reportedly the first feature film ever to shoot at the popular New York City Marathon, 'Brittany Runs a Marathon' is a heart-warming take on peer and self-assessment.

@swayinthewoods @FuschiaScribe 'Becky' (2020) is a low-key action-thriller that introduces you to the strong-willed and vindictive Becky - a pre-teen girl who turns into a fearless avenger to save what's left of her family.

instagram.com/p/CC_OqrDHH5w/…
@swayinthewoods @FuschiaScribe An evocative film steeped in human emotions, 'Dor' (2006) teaches us to value our individual existence of dignity over and above anything else and is one of the finest Bollywood films of the 21st century.

@swayinthewoods @FuschiaScribe While 'Robin Hood' may not be as thrilling as 'Gladiator', it still makes for an entertaining watch; courtesy the star-studded performances, the well-filmed action sequences, and the refreshing historical setting.

@swayinthewoods @FuschiaScribe 'Tomboy' is an intimate French drama that explores the idea of being proud of one's sexuality and is a sensitive throwback to our very own childhood. The beauty of this coming-of-age motion-picture lies in its ability to express without being too vocal.

@swayinthewoods @FuschiaScribe @mammukka is the one-word definition of the National Award-winning motion-picture 'Mathilukal' (1990) that was written and directed with incomparable class by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
