Dear friends, I would like to share with you an interview I did with OX magazine where I touch upon the effects of ultra-capitalism. You know what I'm talking about.... #FBPE Tom Moriarty We are more than they would like us to think oxmag.co.uk/articles/tom-m… via @OX_Magazine
In relation to the above interview I think it useful to post this thread that talks about the way in which ultra capitalism drives fascism. It is absolutely inevitable.
Thank you for sharing this. I realise some may see this as self promotion but it is for me an opportunity to talk about the issues that exist that right now and fucking up our country... and it doesn't stop there.

Let’s be clear, we had a deal. It was a deal between nation and government that we would pay into the nation’s coffers to fund a national health service. We didn’t pay for the development of the NHS for it to be sold off for the personal gain of government school mates. 1/
Of course we can’t expect this government to honour that deal. They don’t know what honour means and couldn’t give a shit who they fuck over. They actually believe it is their right in the same way they believe it is their right to lie. 2/
Over generations the British public have paid for the NHS on the basis there would be a well NHS for those that needed it. This government have taken advantage of people’s good faith. So let’s say it again, we had a fucking deal. This government doesn’t get to renege on that.
As we approach 2022 it makes me think of one particular thing, the London Olympics in 2012. When one looks back it seems now it was the last remains of the fading light from a country that existed before this government came to power. 1/
Away from the politics for a moment, this country was a different country… a more unified country in a time before brexit even existed. Think about that, think about how devoid the national ether was of political stench and hate mongering. 2/
It was it can be argued socially more advanced, again more down to the longer term general advancement and enlightenment then politics, which came to an abrupt end when this government arrived. They hated it. 3/
Dear friends, I have been thinking about the words of @OxfordDiplomat, inspirational as always, about the need for Starmer to find better words to talk about post brexit, and for me, there is a word and it is “Rebuild”. 1/ #FBPE
We need to rebuild our society. It has been ripped apart by this government from the day they arrived. When they got in power they saw a massive opportunity, given to them by the banker created economic crash, to dismantle the country, behind the masquerade of “austerity”. 2/
“Austerity” was never about saving the country. It was never about economic recovery. It was about them destroying what we had all worked for, a progressive economically successful country and creating the Victorian version they wanted. 3/
How can we put this? Let’s just say that when you have an economic trading framework then trade operates in accordance with that framework. What that means is that a massive complex trading ecosystem has evolved over 40 years we have been part of the European trading union. 1/
40 years is a long time so a massive number over arching agreements have been put in place with an even bigger number of business contracts under that layer, all designed to help people trade with each other easily and on a common basis, hence common market. 2/
This structure has benefitted everyone involved. That’s why they did it in the first place. In fact that’s why trade agreements exist, to facilitate TRADE…. It’s not rocket science 3/
Dear friends, I know that many will have shared their experience of this thing however I wanted to say a few words about my experience that perhaps you can relate to. Everyone is different but this is my experience. 1. #FBPE#GetHealthy
Firstly do not do not underestimate this thing. It is unlike anything I have experienced. It is a cunning opponent and a bastard. About half way it seems I was over it & was more active. It was a mistake & that night I felt it. 2.
Rugby players being the tough old boots they are will often get up when injured, especially the hardy Scots. However there will be times where team mates will say "stay down". It is the same with this. Stay down until it is 100% gone. 3/
A few words of Amazon & their CEO "donating" to climate change. Let's be clear on this, when Amazon don't pay tax they are defunding the state, defunding society. Society is in fact subsidizing them. So when they "donate" money to a cause it is in part out money. #FBPE
And it is our money that is being directed by a CEO of a big US corporation. Why is this significant? Because in a functioning democracy we as a society decide how our tax money is directed by electing governments that decide on spending. 2/
So normally.. society decides through the democratic process how it cares for and supports society, for example, providing welfare, supporting culture, sport, building roads etc. However we are moving to a malfunctioning democracy whereby business decides. 3/
