"America is heading to civil war" is the dumbest take in politics
Who will actually fight in the next civil war? What region will separate? Whats it gonna be over?
In the late 60s, nearly every major city was engulfed in race riots and left-wing groups turned to terrorism. We were never close to civil war then.

Portland is just a circus
I see your point, but Syria is a very different country from America. It’s ruled by an Alawite minority and Sunnis had revolved several times prior to the civil war

I could see an American Hugo Chavez emerging on the Left in a decade. This person’s base would be the actual multiracial working class, but it wouldn’t be RW at all. Rather than blame the billionaires, the American Chavez would bland whites as he pushes wealth redistribution
His base would be the the service sector, gig workers, low-skilled immigrants, and the increasing number of white “lumpen bourgeoise” (think the people who make Antifa). Thanks to the media and education, many Americans are primed to support an anti-white socialist agenda.
There’s also gonna be many people in this country joining the ranks of this new proletariat over the next decade. The regime won’t be thrilled if actual socialism becomes popular and threatens the economy and American global power.

Right-wingers are interested in building a counter culture in theory, but aren’t really interested in practice. See the intense hostility this sphere will show towards the most basic steps toward working toward that goal (giving up NFL, rap, etc.)
There are some elements of a counter culture that a lot of people do IRL, such as homeschooling. But most RW cultural consumption is the same as the rest of America. Some do this because they don’t want to be seen as weird, others because they actually enjoy this stuff
Many people say we need to focus more on cultural creation rather than politics, but much of this is just Let’s Go Brandon raps. It’s the same culture as the mainstream. The difference is that this rap makes fun of Hunter Biden.

I think everyone is getting a bit too worked up about the Martha’s Vineyard thing. It’s a political stunt to draw attention to another issue. Politicians do this all the time. It’s not the first salvo in an imminent civil war or anything
Bussing the migrants to DC, NYC and Chicago (which Desantis has not done) has inflicted pain on these blue areas. The Martha’s Vineyard stunt didn’t do that. Of course, more migrants could change that
The stunt is good in that it pushes immigration to the center of political debate. It does not however DESTROY liberal hypocrisy. The purpose of these migrant bussings should be to draw attention to the issue and help out red state communities where they were first dumped

Conservatism is increasingly an ideology of downward mobility. This explains why cons are obsessed with no one going to school and see college grads as the enemy. our voter base is increasingly bereft of college grads and our commentariat pine for working class status.
Thus, we all want to portray ourselves as downtrodden workers for a measure of status and to skewer our political enemies as wealthy oppressors. It's not really an effective political strategy, but it does make some people feel good
A lot of this prole idolization is driven by people who are not at all proles but view the blue collar life through the "grass is greener on the other side" lens. It's a fantasy and they get angry at one who punctures it. It's also driven by who our voters are as well

Here's how Black Rifle Coffee's executives see people who were upset with their condemnation of Kyle Rittenhouse
This is from the NYT's profile of Black Rifle Coffee. It's a good article nytimes.com/2021/07/14/mag…
Black Rifle Coffee also decided St. Michael is a white supremacist symbol because the Pentagon told them so

The biggest gap between Twitter and real life is the American Catholic experience
Catholic Twitter: "Young Catholics demand the Latin Mass and a firm commitment to the traditional catechism"

IRL:
Only saying this because I see way too many people base their assumptions on American Catholics on what they see on Twitter. Interacting with ordinary Catholics IRL is a very different experience
