The glamour and celeb worship has destroyed many elements of our deen.
Imagine the sorrow... glamour of online da'wah and fundraising pushes us to give 1000s towards huge projects seeking millions on global platforms.
All while local small projects are neglected to the core!
I always say, "Make the best use of your funds".
If you locality effort needs a financial hand, then make sure majority funding goes to local effort. Consider that as your mandate! Regard other efforts on a Nafl level.
For a Small local project or organization, your $1000 may be 5-10% of their target, while even $5000 may be a drop for the bigger global ones.
It does not seem fair that the projects you tend to benefit from most in locality are given peanuts to live upon.
Mufti Hashim Amod Saheb rahimahullah has returned to His Rabb.
Inna lillahi Wa inna ilayhi raje'oon.
Hazrat was my ustadh for Meerath & Jalalayn Shareef. He was student and a friend of My Sheikh Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb rahimahullah and a Khalifa of Hakeem Akhtar rahimahullah
Hazrat founded the Madrasah Akhtar ul Uloom. He was sought after for his candid and insightful Tafseer discourses in the Overport Area.
He conducted special classes for ladies where many benefited from him.
He was called upon many time for his expertise in inheritance at DIM.
I shared a considerably close ta'aluq with him after my Alimiyah, when I moved to Durban.
His transformation from a Teacher to someone like a elder brother mentor helped me settle among other Ulama'.
He was often call me to his house, and we would casually talk about deen.
I observed that my select few teachers had a very peculiar quality. Even hearing a news contrary to their desires, they would have this sense of blissful musarrat (happiness) as though they were already content at how things unfolded.
An example was when I informed my hazrat @MuftiEbrahim about my final decision to move back to Canada. I sensed that the news was not a good one for him. At some level I felt the pain myself too.
Yet, hazrat had such a smile/happiness and long list of duas for me and my future.
Years later in a conversation hazrat informed me how much he wanted me to remain with him. And all I could say was, "Hazrat, aap ne sirf ishara kiya hota, mein tau sirf us isharay ka muhtaaj tha.."
My immaturity deprived me of so much of company. Qaddar Allahu Masha' Fa'al..
1. Scholars in islam say that it is *forbidden* for a person who possesses a single day's provision and clothing to beg without need.
2. Such an individual who is capable and able-bodied for working, however does not have Nisab, although is allowed to receive zakat (though discouraged immensely) is *still* not allowed to beg and stretch hand out to someone else.
3. Begging is only permissible with three conditions:
a. It must not disgrace oneself and personal hurmah must be maintained.
b. Seeking assistance or begging must not exagerate the need on has.
c. Begging or seeking assistance must not harm/harass the person being asked.
