So I tormented myself by listening to WeakKnees' nearly two-hour inaugural "podcast" stream so you wouldn't have to and OH BOY. (Thread)

During which, he plays some music he made with his cousin, including a lovely "f*ck Bernie" tune featuring fun, awful, violent lyrics like...
I won't give this clown the benefit of more footage nor a direct link to his contemptible bile. I'm risking my account as it is to expose this trash that needs to be called out and condemned, let alone want to Streisand him more attention.

But there's more in the same song...
"Tell your wife watch her mouth before she gets Bernie smacked"

"My b*tches creep your house/Smack your kids in the mouth"

Near the end, "f*ck that n**** Bernie/f*ck that n**** up."

If it were only this and billboards, I might have brushed it off as "trash talk."

But context:
Firstly, this guy has long harbored an unhealthy obsession with dunking Bernie. After all, his continued harassment was what got him pushed off this site several times.

Here's some of his totally sane and healthy tweets:
I'm sure some others have more of his greatest hits and harassment on Bernie supporters. But he is/was one of the accounts in and boosted by this lovely little domestic troll farm: huffpost.com/entry/democrat…
Word cloud of unverified account retweet frequency by the sock network tracked (larger the name, the more retweets received). Original source from the article: shareblueastroturf.netlify.com/#sockpuppet_ac…

As you can see, his account features rather prominently.
Another fun note: just Neera Tanden referring to him as "friend" and wishing him happy birthday...
Probably worth noting at this point: he also mentions during the podcast that he used to work for the campaign and expressed regret at leaving too early. His critique included *checks notes* thinking she didn't hit Bernie hard enough.

Right... thedailybeast.com/hillary-pac-sp…
But here's the real kicker, on top of Neera Tanden palling with him:

Hillary sending him a rather personal sounding (as though she may know him) letter, including thanks for his "very vocal and enthusiastic support...on social media."

I cannot...
WeakKnees also mentions in the podcast that NY is only one place he's running with these billboards, but also to Iowa, SC, etc.

Yet his YT channel looks like it only started up the past few days, his GoFundMe was only started last month, and isn't even at $1,000 yet.
Which leads me to the question: where, exactly, is he getting the money or time to wage this totally sane "vet bad man Bernie" campaign?

It's also rather interesting that all this spins up as Joe continually falls over his own words in public AND events/emails like this emerge:
So what was the possible plan here--promote this guy on MSNBC or elsewhere as some kind of evidence for "grassroots support" that Hillary should run again?

Whatever any of this is about, Weaks' actions have now gotten out of hand, especially for this tense political climate.
This is more than a simple "jerk supporter is being a jerk"--whether they knew it or not, Neera and Hillary have directly encouraged and praised Weaks' behaviors, encouraging him to escalate.

Deplatforming won't fix this anymore. They need to condemn his actions here AT ONCE.
Unfortunately, such support for violent rhetoric has gone on in anti-Bernie world unchecked in any way for entirely too long.

And it needs to be condemned and discouraged by those whose friends fuel and support it.

Now. /END

This article is long on telling and implying to you what to believe folks are doing, and little on what they're actually doing.

There are legitimate criticisms to be had of OR, and the term "pragmatic" needs to be thrown directly in the 🚮.

THREAD to break down this mess:
Let's start with this misleading headline:

"Pro-Sanders group rebranding into ‘pragmatic progressives’"

Here's what that actually references. It's a bad take, but the piece's own text undermines its framing about a "Pro-Sanders group" rebranding.
From the top, it's narrative yarn for days. Editorialization-run-rampant to sell you their story of events: Bernie lost again, so the org is settling for Biden's proposals now since he can't run again.

Of course this shows up for me now.

I want data, not...whatever this is. To the extent it's still unclear, that probably has a thing or two to do with not researching it in the first place.
Now, I've heard a thing or two about natural immunity not being quite as good against Delta/Lambda/etc...but I don't have those %s handy, because I suck like that.

I was able to find some Lancet research from April, though, re: natural immunity.

thelancet.com/journals/lance…
None of this is to say catching the real thing is overall better than the jab--it ain't.

All I'm pointing out here is that we need to do better at identifying who has immunity, natural or vaccine-generated, and work from that instead of playing blind reopening darts out here. 🤷‍♀️

Good to know Democratic Majority For Israel made sure to chuck cash at one state Dem party in particular a few months ago, per OpenSecrets:

The totally-not-relevant state party of...New Hampshire. 😐 opensecrets.org/search?order=d…
I'm shocked, truly shocked that this org smears Bernie while praising Bloomberg.
Am I turning this into a DMFI thread?

Why yes. Yes, I am.

We DO NOT need to pool with Warren to get over 50% in Milwaukee.

I repeat: WE DO NOT NEED WARREN TO WIN!

In fact, helping Warren get delegates is helping Biden or Pete win at this point, because she CLEARLY isn't going to pool with us!

Thread time:
Right now, there are only two strategies that make sense.

The first is ensuring absolute dominance. You see to it Bernie gets as many votes as possible to put him at the highest percentage possible, and shut everyone else out as best you can from reaching the 15% minimum.
Remember: You don't get 15%, you don't get delegates.

If Bernie has enough of a lead over Biden, Pete, or any other corporate hack who might pool with the establishment against him, they literally will not have enough delegates to play with to stop him.

I'm not sure who needs this, but it's time I put together a fresh thread compiling/recompiling concerns with Elizabeth Warren.

If I'm to believe she's an ally, and good enough to be POTUS or even to be VP, then these are thorny subjects she *will* need to answer for.

Let's go:
First of all: we should follow the money. Corrupting corporate and wealthy cash underpins much of why we can't have nice things.

And Warren's record on this, in spite of her recent corporate PAC pledge...leaves much to be desired.

Getting your midterms cash from the likes of Stephen Cozen (head of a union-busting law firm) and Ed Rendell are both a pretty bad look.

Remember that a lot of this cash was literally transferred to her presidential account, so remains quite relevant.
