Guys, I’ve been refused entry into US. Sections 212 (a) (7) (A) (i) (I). Me going to DC is “entry into the labor” market and I’d be “imported labor”. I’ve never been pulled aside at a US border let alone refused entry.
I booked my husband on the phone for his vaccine (underlying condition) because the website wouldn’t accept his birth year for some reason...
The woman on the phone asked if was booking myself too abd I explained it’s not my turn. That I was anxious to get it, but also happy to wait my turn...
She expressed her thanks and told me that many people were getting really upset with them because they aren’t in a qualifying group...
(thread) So, ever since LPS Chief Shahin Mehdizadeh publicly stated (twice) that he contacted the province to instigate an ASIRT investigation into the searching of Lethbridge-West MLA, former Environment Minister Shannon Phillips' name, I've been working on a timeline.
The process to make that happen is called a 46.1 notification to the Director Of Law Enforcement (DLE). It's the part of the Police Act if there's a serious incident (ie. officer involved shooting) or the potential of any serious issue within an Alberta Police service.
The DLE is the person who triggers an investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, which is what happened in the Phillips name search incident. Here's the background if you're not aware: cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…
CBC News has learned that Alberta Premier Jason Kenney’s Executive Director of Issues Management was interviewed this week by the RCMP in relation to its investigation into the 2017 UCP leadership race. Matt Wolf worked on Jason Kenney’s leadership campaign and was in contact...
with the campaign of another candidate, Jeff Callaway. It is alleged that Callaway ran a sham campaign with the intent of inflicting damage on now-Premier Jason Kenney’s biggest rival Brian Jean. Emails obtained by CBC News showed the Kenney campaign giving advice to...
Callaway’s campaign on how best to attack Jean. Their notes went as far as indicating when Callaway would drop out of the race. Both Kenney and Callaway have denied they were collaborating to take down Brian Jean. When asked by CBC about Matt Wolf’s interview with RCMP, a...
A man took shelter in the outdoor lobby of my condo building over night. I asked him what he needed. He said no one has ever asked him that. I suggested perhaps warm thermal socks and raided hubby’s new sock part of the drawer to bring him two pairs. Turns out, he had on...
... thin little tennis socks. I offered to call Alpha House DOAP team and he said no, as he was hoping to meet a friend. There was an Amazon package sitting there for the taking and he didn’t touch it. Two lessons from my exchange:
1. Don’t make assumptions about people down on their luck. He could have easily taken that package and didn’t. 2. Ask people what they need. It was startling that no one had ever asked him that. Every human should be asked what they need. Every single one of us.
I'm tweeting a bit late from BC's quash Bill 12, the so-called "turn off the taps legislation" because it's unconstitutional court arguments. I showed on time and forgot my laptop. Dear Hubby ran home to get it for me like a kid who forgot lunch. He's good like that.
At any rate, Gareth Morley will be arguing for BC and Evan Dixon will be arguing for Alberta. Long arguments, all day, with no expected decision. Forgive the typos now.
Alberta Justice Robert Hall says he's not Monty Hall "let's make a deal" and is wondering why they're starting at a lower court when it will inevitably go to the court of appeal. He's implying this might be a waste of time arguing at a lower court.
