Who is HaileMariam Redda and what did the CIA predict in1983?

After the Italian invasion of 1936 and subsequent expulsion in 1941, his Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie in an effort to reassert his authority and centralize power

levied heavy Tax on the Tigray people. By this time Tigray had truly become the Wild West. All the Nobles were warring against each other to be the next Negus of Tigray, Bandits roamed freely, and the bureaucratic structure had eroded

In this volatile environment Haile Selassie sends, unfortunately, some very corrupt officials to collect tax... and naturally a resistance was born. Henze, Paul B. writes in his 1985 book "Rebels and separatists in Ethiopia." the Tigray sang:

Here is where our hero, the founding father of Woyane, Haile Mariam Redda enters the scene. A peasant “Shifta” whose claim to fame was, as Paul Henze notes, being a kind of “Robin Hood” to the people.

And this is the platform he ran on, ...hope you are sitting down for this!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the original Tigray Woyane challenging Amharas on whose more “patriotic” and “nationalist”! Yes, a fight on who’s more Ethiopian! Oh, but there is more!

“Our flag is that of Ethiopia”! Clearly a snub to Haile Selassie’s 1941 “Lion of Judah” Flag...but still, they celebrated the Ethiopian Flag! God only knows what they would say to the new “Federal” flag of Tigray.
Paul Henze makes this conclusion about the 1943 Woyane movement

Today, however, the TPLF has claimed that it is the “second" Woyane and YET their original policy was separation, which is exactly the OPPOSITE of what the true Woyanes of ‘43 fought for.

In fact, the astute Tigray people completely REJECTED the TPLF until the TPLF toned down the Marxism talk and abandoned their secessionist ideology.

It is terribly sad that even though the TPLF promised the Tigray people that secession was off the table- to get their support, they would later betray their own people when, I can only assume, they had the military might to advance their own agenda without the need of the people

In fact they even once tried to join TPLF with EPLF... whether this is the "Greater Tigray" conspiracy at play I don't know, in fact I have no idea what to make of this

TPLF seemed to be a rebel looking for a cause, shape-shifting when necessary but the CIA read the TPLF like a book and made this eerie and incredibly accurate prediction.

I think it is safe to say that the TPLF are anything but the "Second" Woyane. Those of us who fight for the flag of Ethiopia, we are the real Woyane. Hailemariam Redda and Haile Selassie had their differences but nobody could question their commitment to an indivisible Ethiopia.
