Never, in all the time I’ve been posting tweets, have I been approached by so many with malign intent.
Once before, when I revealed I had found the CPC climate plan, I received pressure from someone pretending to be progressive. They pressured me to delete my thread.
Labelled me a poser and fake journalist. It almost worked. I was less confident then in my writing, but not my convictions. I did not delete the thread. Turns out, I was dead on. The climate plan offered by Scheer was EXACTLY what I predicted, 6 months before it became public.
The last few days, I’ve had several people approach me looking for support or confirmation of their assumptions, political associations, beliefs or values. Or criticism, and disregard for what I’ve proffered as a viable theory regarding world politics.
I’ve never had so much attention.
Today, a twitter acct approached as an ally. Followed me immediately and engaged me in political discourse. With a fan of the discussion, also ideologically allied with the twitter user. I checked.
I knew immediately upon reading the twitter users bio what was up. Tag team trickery.
This is how it works. A post complimenting a political comment or policy position. Followed by baiting me to agree on a radical and politically charged solution to the problem identified.
I’ve blacked out responses from different conversations so as not to distract.
Expropriating land from Chinese investors isn’t a viable solution. Communist Republic of China, Chinese nationals who have invested and associated Chinese corporations would take Canada to international arbitration and sue the Crown for lost profits, bankrupting our nation.
So naturally, I did not take the bait. The pursuit continued, nevertheless.
Trying to sell themselves as an ally, the acct tried to persuade me they were in agreement with my thread documenting the situation with China and the 31 year binding FIPA signed by Harper & CPC.
Then the acct mentioned Bernier & PPC. Tried to link PPC’s mass migration stance as an appropriate response to the China FIPA. Working hard to sell me on Bernier’s non-racist policies regarding immigrants.
I’m no fool. Bernier was a member of the government that signed & ratified FIPA, and gave his full support.
More attempts to plant disinformation in my timeline. I allowed it, because I knew what the acct user was up to. Fully knowing I’d write this thread to use as evidence.
I’ve done my homework. Harper & CPC were one of the most corrupt executive branch’s in Canadian history, maybe the most corrupt.
The acct tries desperately to dismiss connections between BC Liberals (Cons in red coats) & CPC to the infiltration of Canada by Chinese operatives.
It’s all connected. I’ve clearly laid out that Harper was desperate to sell oil sands & FF to a world uninterested in dirty oil and fracking of NG & Oil.
The only ones interested in Canadian FF were the Chinese. China’s interest and investments came with devastating conditions.
The consequences will impact this nation for generations. Because of CPC extreme avarice.
Increased international criminal activity, corruption, money laundering, threat to indigenous treaty rights, removal of environmental & health & safety regulations, ...
... compromised national security, concession of Canadian sovereignty to bad actor foreign investors (US, Saudi Arabia, China) & devastating economic sanctions meant to break the will of the government to retain sovereignty (aka malicious statecraft).
I expect more of this will continue.
The acct questioned my understanding of the experience of living in a location that has been invaded by foreign nationals exerting efforts to overtake the prevailing culture. That is ridiculous and simultaneously hilarious.
As an indigenous Métis woman, I’m quite confident I can attest to the discomfort of feeling unwelcomed by immigrants in your own homeland. Imagine the arrogance required to make that statement.
But there is a valuable lesson, beyond the obvious attempt to compromise my narrative.
Social Justice Warriors have indeed compromised & negated our ability to rationally discuss the impact on Canadian culture from increased immigration.
Overzealous objection to consider impacts has impaired Canadian sovereignty. I recall a specific example.
Ujjal Dosanjh wrote a controversial & impassioned plea for Canadians to consider, just a few years ago.
One of the very few complaints I have of PM Trudeau is the promotion of Canada as post-national. I wholeheartedly agree with Dosanjh. It is not hate speech to debate real world impacts.
Had we as Canadians & progressives remembered that distinction, it wouldn’t be so difficult to address China’s malevolence now.
If we believe all voices matter, then the impact on white men needs consideration, examination and open debate. Not a SJW imposed taboo.
The most important lesson I gained from post-secondary education was the importance of continuously challenging your own belief system. It’s how we grow, expand our understanding and learn. Otherwise, why bother with education?
CPC doesn’t believe in challenging their values & beliefs. Neither does the far left.
Respectful conversations about sensitive issues, like immigration, sexual preference, body autonomy, mental & physical health, indigenous treaty rights, etc. need to occur.
In a democracy all positions require to be considered. Examined for any substantive policy options, and respected.
It is NOT hate speech to question a foreign nation’s insidious imposition of their beliefs & values on Canada. It’s authoritarians who rule it out as an option.
Until Canadians reject what has been newly made taboo, we will continue down this divided path of tribal affiliation. Calling someone “un-Canadian” is as much of an insult as calling an indigenous person a drunk. It’s disrespectful, meant to wound and unnecessary.
Taboos periodically need adjustment. If progressives didn’t challenge the restrictions of taboos, women would still be bare foot, LGBTQ would still be closeted, and we’d have wiped out indigenous peoples entirely.
Political Correctness needs further consideration.
I was asked to post the theead I did in climate change. Here it is:
I feel the need to point out the deceptive strategy being used here. 🧵 🪡
@LukaszukAB is flagging that there are major problems with the Alberta Human Rights legislation in response to @DuaneBratt referring to enshrining vaccination human rights.
In the midst of another Covid wave, this may seem to be the most important part of the proposed changes. But it’s not.
It’s a distraction from the real effort to put corporations in charge of Alberta by bequeathing human rights for the owners of private property ~ corporations.
I wrote this in 2019.
I’m not a lawyer.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t understand the law.
When you are an indigenous activist, had your land rights stolen by govt and vulnerable to attack, you learn how it was done in the past so it cannot be done again without a fight.
So I’ve noticed I’ve retained my follower count but never seem to have anyone look at what I’m writing.
Have I said controversial things that people are struggling to fit in their frame of reference?
Yep.
That’s how you cause cognitive dissonance. You rock the boat.
That’s what activists do.
They don’t perform propaganda by deed.
They don’t attack others in a virtual mob trying to drown out their narrative.
They do point out inconsistencies and hold up a mirror in your face.
You know what I’m good at?
Rocking the effing boat!
I’m rocking the boat so violently that you develop seasickness and start wondering WTF.
Why? Because lives & treaty rights of people I care about now depends up on Canadians acknowledging and collectively speaking out against what is happening.
@dbeggs13 @Eric_M_V What would turn around the population’s opinion of PMJT?
What would make a difference?
First you need to understand how we got here.
What if ALL the disinformation could be exposed?
What if everything shifts once the US election is decided?
@dbeggs13 @Eric_M_V Everything shifted when Biden stepped down.
But what pundits and analysts continue to ignore was that GOP and media were NOT calling for Biden to resign. GOP & Trump wanted Biden to remain, because they knew he would struggle to overcome public perception of his frailty.
@dbeggs13 @Eric_M_V PMJT is the strongest asset the LPC have.
To comprehend rhetoric and influence, you must ask, who does this benefit.
It benefits CPC if PMJT resigns. It does not injure LPC if he stays.
He needs new policies and new dragons to slay. His charisma is unparalleled globally.
