Shri K. N. Vyas, Secretary DAE & Chairman AEC, launched 'NCG Vishwam Cancer Care Connect' in Vienna on the sidelines of 63rd #GeneralConference of #IAEA.
By virtue of this, National Cancer Grid #NCG established and managed by Tata Memorial Centre #TMC, the primary healthcare management arm of DAE, which has 183 participating stake holders from India, has been made open to the cancer hospitals and institutes from foreign countries.
The objective of the NCG has been removing the disparity in Cancer Care. The NCG Vishwam is expected to play the same role globally. Eleven countries expressed interest immediately after the launch.

We grieve the passing away of Dr. Sekhar Basu, a renowned nuclear scientist and the former Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Atomic Energy. 1/4
In his career spanning more than 4 decades, he played major role in establishing India as a leading nation in nuclear science & engineering. He laid great emphasis on societal uses of atomic energy and was instrumental in finalising DAE’s Vision Document for @NITIAayog. 2/4
Dr. Basu successfully spearheaded several key programmes, including the development of nuclear submarine and the nuclear recycling plants. He also played a substantive role in boosting nuclear power through indigenously built reactors. 3/4
PM SVANidhi (Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi) launched by the M/o Housing and Urban Affairs, is a special small loan facility aiming to help street vendors to access affordable loan for resuming livelihood activities, after easing of lockdown. 1/5
In addition to being an instrument for facilitating formal credit to street vendors, PM SVANidhi aims at comprehensive socio-economic upliftment. The scheme is supported by a robust, end-to-end technology-driven platform. 2/5

Shri K. N. Vyas, Chairman AEC and Secretary DAE, hoists the National Flag at the Dept HQ in Mumbai on the 74th Independence Day. Reminiscing the perseverance and fighting spirit of the freedom fighters, he said that We, as a nation, are determined to overcome the pandemic.
In his Address, Shri Vyas presented a glimpse of the recent achievements of the constituent Units and Institutions of the Department and reiterated the commitments of the Department towards the new initiatives under the umbrella of ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat’.
Shri Vyas acknowledged and thanked the corona warriors including doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, health and sanitation workers, police force, for proactively performing the difficult task of managing the pandemic.
