ii) Again in Minākṣī-Kalyāṇam, her brother Viṣṇu gives her away in marriage to Somasundara i.e. Śiva),
the adored of Indra. O! Who possesses all the six bhagas, Who is the consort of the Lord with the blue neck (Śiva)
All glory to Thee, the repressor of the demon Mahiṣa, Who is decked with beautifully braided hair, Who is the daughter of the mountain. (1)
Who showers boons on the devas,
Who punishes those who are undisciplined,
Who tolerates ugly-faced ogres,
Who rejoices in Herself (knowing herself to be everything), Who nourishes the three worlds,
Who pleases Lord Siva,
Who removes the effect of wrong-doings,
Who is angry on the progenies of demon Danu,
Who is angry with the sons of Diti (the sons of Diti are the daityas, hence),
Who destroys those intoxicated with pride,
Who is the daughter of the Ocean...

जय जय हेमहिषासुरमर्दिनि रम्यकपर्दिनि शैलसुते ॥३ ॥
Who loves to dwell in the forest of Kadamba trees,
Who is always smiling,
Who lives in her own dwelling amidst the top peak of the great Himālayas,
Who is sweet like honey,
Who keeps the treasures of Madhu and Kaiṭabha........
Who revels in Rāsa-dance.
All glory to Thee, the repressor of the demon Mahiṣa, Who is decked with beautifully braided hair (ramyakapardini),
Who is the daughter of the mountain (śailasute!). (3)
