Bernier starts by attacking road-building in Africa. Because that's what really burns Canadians, I guess?
"Prime Minister is a bit unlikely". You have to appreciate the very honest response by the Bloc leader. #leadersdebate2019
So far the #leadersdebate2019 has consisted of Bernier talking over people whose parties will actually win more than one seat.
Why is the guy with one seat on the far right being permitted to dominate this debate?!
Idea: Put Trudeau, Scheer, Singh and May on a stage. Give them 10 minutes each to lay out their plan on each issue. Allow a few minutes for responses. Cut off everyone's mic when someone is speaking. #leadersdebate2019
First, we waste time letting Bernier hold court on why diversity is bad and now a debate on Quebec's Bill 21, which no federal party wants to challenge. What next, a debate on whether Toronto City Council seats should be reinstated? #leadersdebate
We get it. Bernier hates immigration. We don't need him on the national stage to hear it over and over. #leadersdebate2019
Scheer says that there is never a justification for a PM to interfere in a criminal case. Funny, he felt differently in 2017, when he wanted the PM to interfere in the case of alleged terrorists: ctvnews.ca/politics/plan-…#leadersdebate2019
Referring to Trudeau and Scheer as Mr. Delay and Mr. Deny was a good line by Singh. #leadersdebate2019
Bernier says he will do nothing but balance the budget. Oh, and demonize immigrants. #leadersdebate2019
Bill 21 is terrible, but Quebec has invoked the Notwithstanding Clause, so the feds have limited ability to intervene. Maybe we should discuss more of the things over which these leaders actually have power? #leadersdebate2019
This column by @LeslynLewis is a head-scratcher. Canada is undergoing a socialist coup, and the evidence includes... the restrictions imposed by the provincial Conservatives. nationalpost.com/opinion/leslyn…
More evidence of Canada's socialist revolution? Various policies the government has said it is not pursuing.
Apparently, "many Canadians" have binged Black Mirror and told Lewis all about it.
Successful because it complements a regularly-scheduled, high-volume service (the ferry). It provides a second-option, and is not trying to replace an existing service.
If the city were proposing to replace the ferries with water taxis, I think we'd have a much different view on whether this qualifies as "successful".
But hey, if we're going to start replacing low-volume transit lines with provate microtransit, should we also shut down the Gardiner East and Scarborough subway? Or are we only worried about bus routes serving low income folks? www-cbc-ca.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.cbc.ca…
We know Henry Ford isn't personally tweeting from the verified @Ford account. Are politicians brands that live on forever? Maybe Twitter should allow users to click on an account's verification badge and provide transparency regarding who/what has been verified.
Ultimately, I think Twitter needs to provide more transparency about verification: the process for getting verified and how you lose it. And, maybe create different verification categories, say for individuals, companies, news orgs, etc.
The day before entering Stage 3, Niagara has a spike of cases, and city council is still debating masks. Maybe a mandatory mask requirement should be a condition of entering Stage 3?
I mean, come on. As of tomorrow, indoor dining will be permitted in Niagara Falls. Casinos and movie theatres can open. Meanwhile, at city hall: niagarafallsreview.ca/news/niagara-r…
Here's a thought: With 80% of Canadians supporting mandatory masks, maybe you'll attract more visitors if you let them know they won't be surrounded by maskless crowds?
