This column by @LeslynLewis is a head-scratcher. Canada is undergoing a socialist coup, and the evidence includes... the restrictions imposed by the provincial Conservatives. nationalpost.com/opinion/leslyn… More evidence of Canada's socialist revolution? Various policies the government has said it is not pursuing.

Successful because it complements a regularly-scheduled, high-volume service (the ferry). It provides a second-option, and is not trying to replace an existing service. If the city were proposing to replace the ferries with water taxis, I think we'd have a much different view on whether this qualifies as "successful".

So verified accounts can be handed down to anonymous people? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of verifying someone's identity? We know Henry Ford isn't personally tweeting from the verified @Ford account. Are politicians brands that live on forever? Maybe Twitter should allow users to click on an account's verification badge and provide transparency regarding who/what has been verified.

The day before entering Stage 3, Niagara has a spike of cases, and city council is still debating masks. Maybe a mandatory mask requirement should be a condition of entering Stage 3? Image I mean, come on. As of tomorrow, indoor dining will be permitted in Niagara Falls. Casinos and movie theatres can open. Meanwhile, at city hall: niagarafallsreview.ca/news/niagara-r…

Hey @gordperks, any chance we could also do something about the roads in Bloor West Village?

Here's my street. The speed limit is 30 km/hr, but you wouldn't know it from the speed of drivers cutting through the neighbourhood. /1 Image The sidewalks are pretty narrow. If someone's pushing a stroller or walking a dog, you have no choice but to walk onto the street. On garbage day, it's even worse. /2 Image

The Sun playing fast and loose with the facts yet again. First off, Trudeau wasn't "convicted" of ethics violations. The word "conviction" suggests there was a criminal trial. Not to mention the ethics legislation has only been around since 2006. Image Second, this passage suggests the changes to the list of restricted firearms were a result of new emergency powers. This is also incorrect, as the authority to make changes to the list goes back decades. Image

Once again, Niagara Falls' city council has voted to allow the demolition of a historic building, despite the recommendation of city staff. I'm not an expert in campaign financing law, but I don't think you're supposed to use political donations (for which a tax credit is given) for this kind of personal expense, are you? So, if I have this correct, people donated to the Conservative Party and we, the taxpayer, reimbursed them a proportion of their donations. That money then was given out by the non-profit Conservative Fund. Image

Another day, another hit and run. This is an epidemic. Again, under the Highway Traffic Act, the maximum licence suspension for someone who hits a child and flees the scene? Two years. How about changing this, @C_Mulroney?

If you hit a baby and then make the conscious decision to drive away, your vehicle should be forfeited and you should never be permitted to drive again. This is ridiculous. Drivers aren't always at fault. It's possible that a cyclist or pedestrian runs a red or otherwise causes a collision at no fault of the driver. But leaving the scene is an intentional act. You're leaving someone to die when you have the ability to stay and assist.

Education Minister @Sflecce just said junior kindergarten teachers need to be tested in trigonometry because a JK teacher may teach high school in subsequent years. I... don't think teachers are permitted to do that. My understanding is that a teacher qualified to teach primary grades can't teach senior grades. But, what do I know. I'm not the Minister of Education.

As I was taking this photo of Yonge Street traffic, the pictured truck pulled over to park. Its overhanging side mirror literally knocked the phone out of my hand. Glad it wasn't my head. ImageImage And just to clarify. I was standing on the sidewalk, holding the phone in front of me. I was not, as accused by the truck's passenger, on the street.
